We absolutely loved the house, the pool, the carbet, the porch; but even more than that, we loved Veronique and Eric, the owners who live next door. They are the kindest, most thoughtful and generous hosts you will ever meet! The rental house, pool and porches are completely private. You cannot see any other buildings or hear any other people at all. Of course the view to the ocean and Marie Galante is spectacular. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The house is very clean, and Veronique would come in and clean for us every 10 days or so (we didn’t need more than that). The days we didn’t go to the beach, we spent all day in fresh air, with all the windows open in the main living area, enjoying the wonderfully cool Caribbean breezes and the saltwater pool. We used the A/C in the bedrooms only at night. We visited many beaches and tourist sites during the 6 weeks we were there, but we loved the Ste. Anne beach most of all, just a short drive down the hill. The waters are warm, clear, and calm, and there are lots of palm trees for shade all along the beach, and excellent restaurants and food vendors. You can snorkel right from the beach! If you have the time, I recommend at least day trips to Desirade and Petite Terre, Marie Galante, and Les Saintes (Terre de Haut). The owners’ friend, Clement, can make all the arrangements. Every activity we booked with him was flawless.
