Let me just get this out of the way: I can't say a single bad thing about this house. It's in a fantastically convenient location, it's beautiful, cozy, and safe. The showers are hot and strong, the washer and dryer work great, there are plenty of wall outlets and plenty of storage. If I were in the market for a house to buy, I would stop looking after finding this one.
When we arrived in Rotorua, there were still a couple of hours before our arrival time. Our host provided ample and clear communication and even had the house ready for us early, which was much appreciated after a wildly jetlagged walk through the redwood forest just a brief walk away from the home.
The week that followed was very much like being at home in New Zealand. Which, considering we'd arrived from Florida, was welcome. Everything about the house was exactly what we needed (two adults and a 9-year-old). Waking up in the morning with the birds chattering away outside, plenty of space to make whatever meals we wished, and easy access to everything Rotorua offers when we wanted to get out.
Given we stayed in winter, it's probably worth saying that the home was solid and kept a perfectly pleasant temperature day and night.
The art in the home was utterly delightful.
If you're at all like we are, if you like to settle in and pretend you're living somewhere (for an all too brief time) and not just visiting, this place is definitely worth a look. We will absolutely stay here again whenever we return.
