What a wonderful hotel this was! The room was large and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent, and the location couldn’t be beat. The staff spoke English, which was helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Rothenberg.

The Burg Hotel was a gem in such a charming city lost in time! Otto was so warm and welcoming and even recommended our taxi to the Frankfurt airport. The breakfast was outstanding with homemade apfelkuchen, fresh bread assortment, meats, cheeses, and jams everyday. We had the family apartment and were delighted to find we had the run of a whole house with two bathrooms and a washer and dryer! The ground level bedroom was a welcome break from stairs for those of us who don’t handle them so well. The cross ventilation was splendid in the evening to cool the place off even on 90 degree days. Everything was in walking distance, although it was a bit of a hike from the train station with luggage. Best to have plenty of euros on hand, some places are cash only. There is a nearby bank with ATM if you get caught short on cash. We would definitely stay here again!

PERFECT in every way

From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we were treated like family. The Innkeeper, Otto, is the father of the owner. We met her, as well as two of Otto’s grandchildren. The rooms were very spacious, bathrooms as well. Beds comfortable. The breakfast room had a beautiful view. You will not regret staying here. It was perfect.

Lovely historic hotel

The property is well located. The building is very historic so there is no lift between floors. Doors need a physical key to lock and unlock so if the door is locked from the inside at night, it is a fire hazard. Beds are VERY hard. Towels are quite worn but guests are paying for the location and historic ambiance.

Our room is on the ground floor and is unexpectedly big and very comfortable. We are here in late November time. It is chilly and cold outside, but the room temperature is plenty warm and cozy. It is a treat having such a spacious room. Bed is comfortable, not too soft for our standard.
