IF YOU HOPE TO HAVE EVEN BASIC HOTEL SERVICE EXPECTATIONS MET (TOILET PAPER, TOWELS, TRASH REMOVAL, RELATIVELY PROMPT COMMUNICATION WITH STAFF), YOU WILL WANT TO STAY ELSEWHERE.
Rooms/space - ground entrance to hotel is dingy, unkept, and not secure. The hotel and rooms on the second level are essentially tenants of a larger building. The hotel attendants who are only very rarely at the reception desk assured me the front door of the building remained closed throughout the day and evening - I never found that to be the case. Front door was always open to the street and reception desk was unattended 95% of the time during our stay. Our guest room was generally well appointed except for a gross discolored white carpet in the room.
Service - communication via WhatsApp was good leading up to trip. I was aware they don’t staff the reception desk 24h and they gave me a rough schedule for front desk staffing: about 9am - break for lunch, then back at the desk until 9ish. For any requests outside of those hours, I was told to simply send a WhatsApp message. In reality, no one is ever at the desk and no one responds to WhatsApp messages in any timely way. I would message to ask why our trash had not been taken out or why our used espresso cups/spoons had not been replaced, but no response. It was impossible to have toilet paper and towels replenished so much so that I had to raid a utility bathroom behind the reception for half used rolls of toilet paper - what a joke.
