Straitsmouth Cove is a classic seaside "cottage" in a sublime location on Rockport’s Gap Cove. This elegant vacation home has the rambling, comfortable feel of a vintage country manor by the sea. The expansive green lawn, with its incredible waterfront view, is a most serene and awe-inspiring setting with plenty of outdoor living space for lounging or playing. You'll enjoy stunning, unobstructed views of Straitsmouth Island from most rooms, as well as from the shady screen porch, patio and the front garden.

Gap Cove, just across the country road, is a place of seaside wonder where you can scramble on the rocks, hunt for shells and seaglass or all manner of little crabs and ocean life ..... or just go for a swim. Put your kayak in or your stand up paddle board and head to Straitsmouth Island with it's paths to explore. From there you can go to Thatcher Island with its twin lighthouses for more exploration or just enjoy the views of Bearskin Neck.

Inside, you'll have plenty of space to get comfortable, with five bedrooms, two full baths and a generous living room with a massive antique brick fireplace. Straistmouth Cove has central AC to keep you cool on hot summer days. From every vantage point, the living spaces offer endless views of the sea, just beyond the home's expansive lawns and gardens.

After a day at the beach or exploring the village of Rockport, relax on the sprawling blue stone patio and take in the ever-changing seascape. Plenty of gorgeous walking/running/biking options and trails right from the property. The home is within walking distance of Rockport village with its famed Shalin Liu Performance Center, shops, galleries and restaurants.

Fabulous Family Time

We had a fabulous stay. The house was terrifically appointed, more bowls, cutting boards, etc than we could ever use--and we did a lot of cooking. Plenty of space inside and out--property managers we SO helpful. If family gathers again in Rockport we will definitely come again. High Recommendation!

Wedding Retreat

Family and friends rented the house together to attend a wedding at the Hotel Beauport. The house was lovely and every morning we woke to the most beautiful sunrises over the ocean. There are great paths that are public to walk around the ocean - downtown Rockport is a short walk from the house. Everything worked properly in the house and all the rooms were lovely.
