This was my second stay at the hotel. The first time was great, so returning felt like an easy choice. Overall, you get what you pay for, but this time was disappointing. On two occasions we came back to find our room door open. The cleaner was apologetic and nothing was missing, but it was unsettling. The room was also uncomfortably cold, and with no instructions for the aircon, we spent days adjusting it before finally finding a good setting.
The worst part came on our last night. At around 22:30 we were asleep when the receptionist suddenly opened our door, entering without our consent. We woke up shocked to find someone coming in. We were told our room controlled the aircon for that wing, and that our adjustments had affected other rooms. Instead of apologizing, the receptionist blamed us for “fiddling” with it and insisted they hadn’t really entered, just checked the settings. At no point did they acknowledge how inappropriate and frightening it was to walk into guests’ room at night.
In general, the staff did not feel friendly or welcoming. Asking for help or even buying something often felt like an inconvenience to them. Sadly, this completely ruined the trust we had after our first stay, and I would not return or recommend it.
