Cottage was not really what we expected, very small with VERY poor quality mattresses. It was fun atmosphere but definitely not worth the price. And the sulfur in the hot water nearly made us sick (only location we stayed at with this issue). In our four nights in Iceland the glamping site near Selfoss had far and away the best beds and ambience for a lot less cost

Hot water from the tap was used to cook eggs. We could not eat them. Overall staff was nice and the hotel was ok. Rooms were very small. The eggs in the breakfast buffet smelled like sulfur - rotten eggs. Hot tap water is known for its rotten egg smell. Why would you cook eggs in this water and put it on the buffet?

Such a unique hotel. The cabins are a great option for a family as they are private. The cabin itself has lots of room. Really cool viking inspired restaurant right next door with great service.

This property was very beautiful right on the water. Very clean. The steaming was very fun and visually pleasing. The breakfast that was included with our stay was absolutely phenomenal. I accidentally booked a room type that was not suitable for our party and they were extremely accommodating and helping me change that. The staff in the restaurants and dining areas was exceptionally friendly. I loved the outdoor hot tub area. It was really cute. I would definitely visit here again.

Cute place, breakfast was good. Parking was a bit hectic due to construction. Area right on the water is lovely. Water has sulfur smell as stated before in reviews, but not terrible. You don’t smell after you shower and tastes good. Kids would really love it here.

Not a village just a hotel with viking decor

This place is a gimmick, no viking village at our time of stay just viking decor ! It looks like construction is in the process of more but unsure. The check in staff was nit very personable when we asked of what there was to do in the area… i found the perlan museum which was awesome and would have been a very easy recommendation from staff. If i knew it was just viking themed decor and not a village i would have spent another day in the Raković center on the main shopping street instead of this place

No sofa in the room. Paid extra for the upgrade but nothing was special other than the bathtub (which we asked for). No place to hang towels. Breakfast is good but the tables and the chairs are not comfy. Has a nice hot tub and sauna.

If you're into Viking vibes, this hotel definitely delivers a fun and themed atmosphere. However, I would honestly recommend coming here more for the restaurant than for the stay itself. The food at the restaurant is quite good and the service is friendly and attentive, which makes for a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, the hotel itself feels quite dated and has a noticeable musty smell throughout. The rooms are extremely small, and the bathrooms are awkward and uncomfortable to use. The shower water contains sulfur, which is typical in Iceland, but the smell here is particularly strong and hard to ignore. The included breakfast is very limited in terms of options, and the parking situation isn't very convenient either. Overall, come for the food and Viking atmosphere—but maybe stay somewhere else.
