Great room and the waffles in the breakfast buffet are amazing. I would go back just for those waffles if I have the chance. The rooms are spacious and fit many people

The good: • Shower • Staff • Restaurant The bad: • Terrible breakfast. Very limited options, with hardly any warm food served during cold mornings. The overall selection was extremely poor. • Uncomfortable bed. The bed frame was strange, and the mattresses were the worst I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. • Poor room service. Dirty dishes were left in our room day after day throughout our entire one-week stay. • No in-room safe. • Inconvenient coffee/tea access. The coffee machine was kept locked in the back, making it difficult to get coffee, tea, or even hot water. • Blankets issue. The queen-size bed had two separate blankets instead of one proper duvet. Conclusion: this hotel is highly overpriced for the level of service and amenities provided. Do not rely on the breakfast, and don’t expect much luxury from Viking Hotel.

The hotel was beautiful and cozy, and the staff were helpful with early check-in. Unfortunately, the breakfast was very limited, and one of the female staff members had an unpleasant attitude.

The room was fairly small and outdated, but it sort of added a charm to our one night layover in Iceland. It was clean and did have everything we needed. The staff was very polite, professional and helpful. The breakfast was a very good variety of options and it was so cool to eat in a cave! The hotel let us store our luggage after we checked out for a few hours (though they said we could all day, if needed) while we went to check out IKEA before flying out, which was very kind!

I would definitely stay again. We enjoyed the hot tub (small, but we had it to ourselves in the early evening). The beds were comfortable, and it was quite. I told them we would be leaving before breakfast, and they graciously packed us sandwiches to go, ready at the front desk. The restaurant/bar is decorated nicely, and they had live music. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived, but most folks left by 8:15pm.

The restaurant had good food and was really neat but the hotel needs a lot of work. Our room was the size of a closet and shower was old and terrible. I'm not kidding, we didn't even have room for our bags. Definitely a skip!

The room was perfect for me and I saw the other rooms available for those traveling with families were quite comfortable. The restaurant is right next door and there are other options to eat like pizza and other restaurants within a five minute walk. Very nice location, my only complaint was the limited parking out front but in their defense it due to construction. There is plenty of parking next to the restaurant so no worries about finding a parking spot. The staff was very friendly and the area is safe and I saw public transportation just a short walk away.

We stayed here for our last night in Iceland and the hotel was easy to find and the bed was comfortable. Rooms are very basic with no frills and breakfast was not as good as other hotels we stayed at but generally better than in the states. The bright neon lights were a total turnoff though. It was a decent and comfortable place to stay. Staff were nice and friendly.

The Viking Hotel was a bit unusual! The cabin was clean and the beds were comfy, but the upstairs was tricky to access, and the layout and furniture felt a little odd. Breakfast was fairly average, and most of the staff weren’t very friendly, though the receptionist was helpful and welcoming. Overall, I can’t say I’d stay here again.

Honest review? Very good hotel, although not very caring (most likely because of Nordic characters). And the sauna/hot tub area is a little further from perfect. Views? Stunning. Breakfast and restaurant: food-fresh and very pleasant. It’s the heart that is not there…I believe - yet.

The rooms are cozy small, one of the overbed lights didn't work so it made bedtime reading challenging. The bathtub was very tall and my husband is not handicapped, but due to his knee replacement did not feel comfortable climbing in and out of that bath. We enjoyed our dinner at the attached restaurant - best Fish and chips in Iceland!

The staff at the hotel were incredibly nice and helpful! Parking was a bit difficult as they were remodeling and expanding, but I believe once they are complete, it may be easier. Breakfast at the hotel was good, and dinner at the affiliate restaurant was very good. We were expecting/hoping the Viking theme would be extended to the rooms, but it wasn't really as predominant as it was in the hotel and restaurant. The room we had was a bit small, but comfortable and clean.
