Apart from the barking dogs and roosters that never sleep, the bungalows are located in a quiet and convenient spot just a few minutes walk from the beach. It’s excellent value for money with Wi-Fi and other thoughtful surprises like access to a washing machine, a library, and snorkeling gear etc. I would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Bungalows are getting a bit tired + need a refresh but otherwise clean + comfortable. Lovely tropical plantings around the bungalows. Fabulous snorkelling within a 3 min walk - including low tide. Also good dining options, maybe need a scooter or car. A bit tricky to find, especially if you arrive at night + without google maps. All good with maps if you punch in the name/road + drive up the road (looks like a lane, but is actually a road!) until you see the sign for the bungalows. 🙂

We absolutely recommend this place and fully enjoyed our stay. Nev and Debbie are fantastic hosts and provide a lot for their guests. The location of the bungalows couldn't be better, as it is very close to the beach but tranquil at the same time. The bungalow itself is very spacious and offers all necessities for a relaxed time on this beautiful island. The communication with the hosts was very friendly and easy. So once again, we absolutely recommend this accommodation.

Given just how much cheaper Aroa Kainga was compared to other options, and even despite how high other reviews have been, I was ready for at least some disappointment. But, no. The accommodation exceeded my expectations - the bungalow is nothing fancy, sure, but it was very well appointed, the fridge was well stocked with breakfasts and bread, free passionfruit from the owners' garden, lovely decking area and, a huge bonus, snorkelling gear and reef shoes if you don't want to schlep your own. There are also clothes washing faciltiies that came in handy. In terms of location, it also lucks out. There is only the one local restaurant, i.e. in walking distance, but cars, bikes and buses will get you to other ones with minimal hassle. However, Kaena (the local restaurant) is solid so if you're feeling lazy, you'll still be well served. In addition the local beach is, for my money, one of the best ones, since it is less crowded with resorts a la Muri, and all that entails. Moreover, we spotted sea turtles, moray eels and eagle rays while snorkeling in the area. Finally, the hosts - Nev and Debbie - are very friendly and helpful, and the information they provide is comprehensive.

Loved our stay at Aroa Kainga Bungalows, the owners are amazing, made us feel welcome and at home, beautiful bungalow, has everything you need. Beach is across the road, plenty of dining places near by. We will definitely come back again, love the privacy as well. Great place to stay at, Totally recommend.

Reasonably quiet area, close to beach. Accomodation was self contained with good size rooms, kitchen had toaster, hot water jug, mircowave, fridge. Plenty of coffee and sugar as well as assorted jams and some breakfast cereal, bread, butter and a small milk as well as a large water bottle to use. No problems parking on the property. My room would have been better suited with a moveable fan on a stand. Not many restaurant options nearby, so having a car would be a good choice. Owners were freindly and helpful.
