Captain Max B & B is great. Located in a quiet area but only a few blocks from the center of restaurants, shopping, and the pier. The amenities are great like all day coffee/tea bar, filtered water, a safe in the room, and a carafe of drinking water in your room. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer. This place is good value for the price. It is a must stay place if you are in Puerto Ayora.

Great location and host

Capitan Max was the perfect place to start our Galapagos trip. The hotel is conveniently located a 5 minute walk from the main pier on the way to Tortuga Bay. Max arranged our transfer from the airport and arranged another taxi for us the following day to take us to the highlands for the giant tortoises. We only managed to eat breakfast once during our stay as we had to leave early for day trips but the breakfast was good. The room was clean and pleasant with good aircon.

The owners of this B&B are just lovely! They are so kind and so helpful. So very friendly. The accommodations are excellent. Their place is SPOTLESS. Breakfast just delightful. Highly recommend staying here!

Went above and beyond

Max and Lourdes were amazing hosts who couldn’t do enough to help. On booking they sent out additional information regarding tours and Santa Cruz. They were always ready to answer questions or to recommend places. They have even gone to the trouble of making videos to explain how to catch the ferry etc. which is very reassuring when you have no idea what to expect. My room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Fluffy white towels in the bathrooms, daily housekeeping, daily breakfast with freshly made eggs, I didn’t need anything more. Lourdes was very helpful in booking my ferries to other islands which saved me a lot of time.

Max is a real gentleman and great host with nothing too much trouble. Tidy rooms with safe. Guests have use of a common fridge. Easy walk to shops, bars and restaurants. Small but suitable breakfast.

A home away from home

Lourdes and her husband made us feel immediately at home. Location is within easy (< 5 min) walk to nearby restaurants and the port. Lourdes arranged for taxis to and from Capitan Max, plus excursions. It's like concierge service. The room was comfortable, cool and large. Excellent plumbing. Healthy breakfast buffet with eggs and fruit served early and consistently. All this at a reasonable price. It's a no brainer.

Capitán Max is a fantastic place to have as your base on Santa Cruz Island. The rooms are clean and big, breakfast is nice, and the staff are incredible. Lourdes, who greeted us when we arrived and was in contact with us during our stay was incredibly helpful. She recommended us things to do, helped us understand how to get places and even booked our ferries to the other islands for us.

Capitan Max B&B is awesome

Wow, what a gem!! Capitan Max B&B is awesome. The staff was amazing. Pedro is the best breakfast cook ever and full of all the information you will need for your trip to Puerto Ayora. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The location is very good and close to everything. Would absolutely stay here again!!
