No cell service or working WiFi = zero access to phone calls, texts, internet. Front desk knows WiFi doesn’t work and encouraged us to travel to the nearest service 11 miles south. Lodge rooms hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in some time. 1 inch thick dust under the bed and very dirty ceiling fan. Shared bathroom means two toilet/shower rooms used by nine lodge rooms - sinks in each room. One set of stairs to the second floor rooms - emergency exits are out the room windows to ladders or metal roofs - then jump from ladder or roof the final 8 feet to the ground.

Unsanitary and unsafe.. but beds were good

The beds and the size of this Vacation Rental (cabin# 12) were the best things about this place. It was unsafe and unsanitary. The shower curtain was moldy and slimy, the kitchen floor was peeling, and there were Mouse Droppings in the bottom drawer of the oven! After my granddaughter was crawling around her clothes were filthy. We knew it was “rustic” which I have done before but this was run down and in need of updating to make it sanitary and safe. No stoppers for the tub or the sink, hard to give a baby a bath or shave in the sink. The mouse droppings really had me concerned about Hantavirus or other diseases. The front porch was uneven, caused my daughter to turn her ankle and my son in law to fall. A window lock was missing so we were afraid of leaving anything there when we went exploring. The fan moved across the floor when we turned it on! Really like a comedy of a trip gone wrong. The food available at Beckie’s was very good as was the Ice Cream place. But we brought food knowing we’d have a kitchen. It was adequate but only one towel? A Keurig coffee machine with no extra pods after the first day. We thought it was a regular coffee maker as I was told. A metal bottle opener in the toaster! How did we not get electrocuted as I found it the second day after it had been used the day before! Not worth the price we paid.

noisy, poor bathroom amenities to accomodate rooms

On the evening of Friday, August 1st, after returning from Crater Lake, we arrived at the resort only to discover that we were unable to get proper rest due to persistent and loud barking from a dog on the premises. The barking continued, making sleep extremely difficult, if not impossible. Regrettably, by the time we returned, your office was closed, and we had no way of addressing the issue in real time. The inability to reach staff or resolve the problem made the situation all the more frustrating. Given that peaceful rest is a basic and expected part of any hospitality experience, this disruption rendered our accommodations effectively unfit for purpose. We respectfully reuest a reimbursement for the stay due to the unacceptable sleeping onsite support during your posted hours. In addition, the bathroom accomodations were poor for all the rooms.

Check in was easy, but the cabin itself smells like an animal died in it. There are some spaces around windows and between boards in the floor that need attention—cleaning and refinishing. Conveniently located near the National Park, but needs so refreshing.

To call this a "resort" is generous. If you stay inside the main house area, you will have a prison cell sized room (not an exaggeration) and be forced to share 2 bathrooms with 9 other bedrooms of people. The rooms are upstairs (something I did not anticipate at a place with cabins) The only restaurant within 11 miles refuses to do to go orders. There is no Wi-Fi. They need to stop advertising that they have any. They don't. The surrounding area is beautiful, at least. I would not consider this place to be accessible to people with disabilities. Should advertise itself as a hostel so people at least know what they are getting into.

Only stay if you reserve a cabin!!

If you stay in the lodge, be aware that it is actually a “hostel.” You will be sharing a bathroom with many other guests, and our queen bed room had a chimney running through the middle of the room. Customer support was terrible and pretty rude.

A wonderful place to stay. We got lucky with a cabin by the creek which was amazing. Easy check-in, cabin was clean and comfortable, and staff were friendly. Easy access across the street to food and also the resort has a shop with necessities and snacks. Highly recommend this place!

They tell you upfront that it’s great opportunity to reconnect on a personal level; spotty to no Wi-Fi and no cellular service. Well stocked with a variety of necessities in the “lobby” area. Overall really relaxing place to stay and get away.

We had a bad experience at this property and do not recommend it! My family of four spent a night at the resort. We expected much better experience for the price we paid. The property does not match multiple areas as described on the advertising, so I consider this false advertisement. There is no air conditioner. This is an old wooden property which soaks up heat and remains hot for a long time into the night with a window wide open. I woke up with running nose after a night with cold air draft. Wifi would not connect. The hotel manager lied to me that federal government would not allow installation of another satelite dish to match internet demand. The door lock in the room was improperly installed and could be easily opened, which made my wife worried about our safety. First alarm system seems to be disabled as the hallway pull alarm activation handles were all pulled. We originally booked for two night, but decided to leave after the first night. I asked for partial refund and property manager refused even after I went through all of the above items. Manager was mostly respectful and calm, but certainly frustrated with having to manage such a run-down hotel.

Real cabin experience

We enjoyed this little cabin (#8) a lot, floor squeaks and all. The bed was a king and comfortable. The fact there was a good restaurant, ice cream shop and a store just across the road was great. The views of the Rogue River were fantastic from the area across the road and down just a little. For us it was only a one night stop on our way home.

The staff and location were excellent. We enjoyed the history of the area. The staff is what made the stay so enjoyable. They were helpful and gave great tips on the waterfalls and hiking
