A couple of maintenance bits to sort out (had a door handle loose on the bathroom) but aside of that a great value for money place. A special shout out to Paulo on reception who was incredibly helpful and gave us suggestions and helped with the luggage on our last day. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Ideally located for the highlights of the city. Blackout blinds in the room and super silent aircon was a real bonus!

Overall the Gate was nice. Excellent walkable location. The rooms are basic and small but that was expected. One complaint is the bathroom lighting is horrible, could hardly tell the lights were on. The room had everything we needed.
