The room they checked me into was dirty, so I had to come back several hours later and move everything because I had an appointment and couldn't change rooms right away. They charged a resort fee for nothing, the elevators and main floor were under construction and was not appealing.

We eat dinner at their restaurant. The burger was 90% raw. The fries were also raw (unbelievable). The server didn’t come back to check on us until my wife had completely finished her dinner. They still charged me for the burger... I’d recommend eating at another local restaurant, there are multiple.

The room was cute and clean. Overall I really enjoyed my stay there. The area is very convenient and many places are walkable so that was important to us. Bar and waitstaff were great. Would have given 5 stars but a huge part of why I booked was to see the historic library but it was closed for renovations and that was not on the website. I would stay there again or recommend to others.

The room was nice and comfortable, with a great shower. However, there were a couple inconvenciences during my stay. One of the Hotel’s main attraction (the Library) was closed without previous notification until getting there (which was one of the reasons I booked this place). Also, the room wasn’t cleaned after the 1st night, which is something you’d expect in this type of Hotels. Regardless, it’s a nice place and in a convenient location.

Renovations made it very claustrophobic and the library wasn’t available, which is the whole point of staying at the Heathman. Housekeeping woke me up at 8 am and then came back and knocked on the door twice more in the next hour before I called the front desk and asked for them to please stop knocking on the door. Rooms were nice and spacious. Location was ideal. We were looking forward to it. Come to find out the place was under renovation, the gym was closed. The Library which was a draw, was also closed for renovation. I shared with the front desk and they agreed that they could have done a better job to let travelers know about the amenities. Valet staff was great. Front desk folks were quite stiff and had an unfriendly, too busy for you vibe. To make a long story short, they did not meet expectations mainly because what they advertised was very misleading. Do better Heathman, the recommendations we received from others were so far apart from the experience.
