Our room reminded me of staying in an original Victorian flat in San Francisco. The hotel is historical with interesting features.
It’s located in a great walkable area but being some ear plugs if you don’t want to wake up to seagulls on an early summer morning!
Clean, lovely room, however, was fooled by the Expedia photos. Expedia shows a representative pic of a freshly remodeled loft and the room is an older Victorian room. Room is beautiful and clean but unexpected compared to Expedia site. They should show pic of a more representative room. Check in woman was wonderful and gave us the best restaurant recommendations.
This hotel is the best location to most everything offered in Port Townsend. The staff was super helpful with all my requests and needs. The hotel is really old school in decor and design, which was pretty cool for a vacation stop. I highly recommend The Palace Hotel!
This was our first stay at the Palace Hotel and we loved it! It’s right in the heart of downtown Port Townsend and was perfect for our needs. The rooms were spacious and nicely maintained. The kitchenette was great to have, plus we had a place to read and eat. The stairs would be a challenge for some, but we actually enjoyed them. We will definitely stay here again.
Unique lodging experience- loved the Miss Kitty room- very spacious and a great view of the water. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only challenging thing was lugging our luggage up three (beautiful and historic) flights of stairs. Would definitely stay there again.
A Victorian beauty. Staff was great. Parking in back was ok. Beautiful furnishings. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Room well appointed with fridge, coffee and coffee maker, microwave. Loved the claw foot tub/shower but a little dicey getting in and out for older folks
Amazing staff and right in the middle of the great downtown area. The lack of an elevator may be a problem for some. 59 stairs to the third floor- no bell hops to help with luggage. We were fine, but just be aware.
The gal who does the laundry is about the nicest employee we’ve met at any of the places we’ve been on this trip to the PNW!
A gem of a hotel in the heart of Port Townsend. Spacious rooms ( with a good size kitchen!), soft towels and sheets, plenty of hot water, very clean. Only thing to be mindful of is that it does have significant stairs ( no elevator ) so if you have mobility issues chooss a room in the lower floor. Wonderful staff and a yrue historic charm. Two minute drive to the Whidbey Island ferry!
First know that there is no elevator in the building. There are steep steps to the first floor and more for the second and third. Our room was a suite, well maintained and clean. The bedroom was up a set of steep slippery carpeted steps. The bathroom was down stairs. Not good for an older couple who get up in the middle of the night. Though I tried to change rooms there were no others available that night. My husband fell down the stairs in the morning. The front desk didn't think anything of it.
Had some issues due to room being next to lower level restaurant. The kitchen exhaust hood vent was directly by the window. The room was hot and unable to open windows due to exhaust smell. The room also smelled like the kitchen. Kinda small room with no good seating. The bathroom had a shower head pipe detaching from the wall, couldn’t adjust the height and it was face level
The larger rooms are good here but not so much on the smaller ones. Stairs could be an issue for the older folks, no elevator.
