A wonderful mid 20th century renovated corner store with well appointed rooms, some over looking the sea, and nearby Mana Island. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable, but what I loved most was the quaint shared facilities. I find travelling can become so impersonal, being in a situation where we were interacting with other guests was lovely, especially in the farmhouse style kitchen, mid 20th century dining room (with a 21st century large TV, and the rustic lounge room over looking the sea. We enjoyed a family meal in the courtyard, followed by a game of soccer on the beach. A wonderful stay and we will be coming back to stay again.

We loved our stay. Very friendly welcome on arrival. Moana Lodge is well looked after and bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and lounge are all super clean/tidy ..... feels a bit like home. Our family room looked straight across to the beach/ocean, amazing view. We were lulled to sleep by the faint sound of the waves. Excellent value for money. Cooking was a breeze with gas hobs, lots of good pots, wooden spoons, airfrier and sharp knives - a very organised kitchen with ample space to store your own food. Little cute village just down the road, with train station close by. Hustling Porurua 5 minutes away by car and an easy 25 minute drive into Wellington city. We loved our stay and will only stay here now when we visit Wellington. It is a real gem.

Beau d'extérieur et joli cadre mais c'est tout...

Hôtel avec Beaucoup de charme... Puis on y vit. Le ménage est fait très approximativement, nous sommes plus sur une auberge de jeunesse qu'une lodge. Wifi digne d'un 56k. Client qui ne respectent rien et personne ne cadre ceux qui ne respectent pas. Culotte et slip dans la salle de bain, ordinateur avec dessin animé des 6h du matin... Etc... La bâtisse est sympa bien que certaines pièces mériterait un bon rafraîchissement dont celle vu sur mer. Et surtout isoler les chambres !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not going back there.

The place is worn down and half of the place is rented out to the government to be used as a place for social cases. A woman was assaulted while I was staying there and the police came and took report. There were old bottles and dirt under my bed and some of the residents made med feel unsecure. I'm not going back.
