For the price I am very happy. The buffet in particular is great value and delicious. I think the hotel is 3-4 star in it's current shape, and one of the best in the area. I liked the staff, who did their best to be helpful. A few areas to improve: * The Chai tea had sour milk both times they served it to me. It's the only Chai I've tasted in India with sour milk and both times it tasted great after telling them to open a fresh box of milk. * No one on staff could come up with a way to do a load of laundry for less than 3,000 R, or $50. which is one reason I went back to Chenai, where The Leela sent it out on an app for 300 R (10 X lower.). * The parking team likes to shout, repeat themselves and shout again over nothing - it's a lot to get used to, and it's local style for communicating, but not 5 star training. * The street-facing rooms are very noisy because of all the honking horns.

Property is located in very convenient place to access the various areas of Pondy. Staff are very polite and professional. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are slightly tired. Quality of the food was really good. Breakfast spread was nice. We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights.

a 5* hotel but quality is not there !

even if it is reputed a 5* hotel, wifi was not working, AC was making some noise. One night at 3AM, we had to wake up to switch off the AC because it was making some noise. The key of our room was all the time desactivated. We had to go the reception each time.
