A relaxing stay. The house looks just like the pictures and is nicely decorated. The host is quick to respond and always answered any question that we had. Not a far walk from the dock or to the beach. We don’t have any complaints. Thank you for having us!

Break Away

Our family loved this cottage! This is our 2nd trip to LGI, and it has proven to be the best break away from all the “busy”. The cottage is nestled in the middle of the island and the perfect distance from the dock and the beach both ways. We enjoyed the slower pace and naps in the screened in porch. Everything we needed was already provided and it made for an easy stay. It was a touch too windy to paddle in the bay or ocean, but that didn’t stop us from combing the beach for shark’s teeth and shells. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!

Our family absolutely loved our time at this beach cottage!! It was an easy walk from the dock and even easier to the beach! We loved how safe and welcoming the island was! Our kids had endless fun with sea shelling/shark tooth hunting/swimming/boogie boarding and hanging out at our home away from home! We’ll be back for sure!

Our favorite place in the world.

We love this property so much. It is truly perfect. It is beautifully decorated with so many cozy spots to hang out. For the second year in a row, we didn’t take a single indoor shower! The house has everything you could possibly need for the beach and kids. The ice maker is a big plus. Michelle is so wonderful and such a great communicator. We love how Bay Street is centrally located and enjoyed seeing the same faces from our trip last year. We also like being halfway between the beach and the bay for easy access in each direction. We barely spent anytime inside so the outdoor furniture/screened in porch are super nice. We also love the loungers and hammock outside.Had all the spices and oil we needed for cooking. Stocked with all the essentials and equipment. Having the kayaks is such a huge bonus. We caught so many fish and boated with manatees and dolphins. Also, it is so clean!! Highly recommend for a young family or anyone else. We adore this house.

The beach cottage was absolutely perfect! Short walk to beach and a short walk to the dock. It had everything needed for our vacation. Very comfortable, clean, well stocked and relaxing!! The owners were great and made sure we were comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

The house was charming, comfortable and clean. The photos of the house are very accurate. There was a nice screen porch to relax on. The kitchen was very well equipped, as was the house. It had everything you need. The location was excellent, half way between the beach and the bay— about a 2 or 3 minute walk each way. You could hear the surf at night with the windows open. Michelle the host was super responsive and everything on the place was cleaned up and fixed from whatever hurricane damage there had been. I recommend it highly.

Absolutely perfect!

What a wonderful week!! This property couldn’t have been more perfect. The house had everything we could have possibly needed- towels, beach supplies, kitchen supplies, bedding, etc. It was all on hand. The beds were so comfortable and we all got great sleep after playing on the beach all day. The screened porch was also a huge bonus- we enjoyed multiple dinners outside with garden lights on together as a family. The shower outside was super convenient - none of the kids ever came inside to shower which helped with keeping inside clean. The beach was only a short walk away and was the best beach we have ever been to. Super quiet and not crowded at ALL. We found loads of shark teeth, sea shells, saw dolphins, sea turtles. The water was never rough and the kids swam for hours every day. Michelle was super responsive and helpful- she gave us all the information we needed for every aspect of the trip. She was honestly the most helpful host I have ever encountered through VRBO. I highly recommend packing light- we didn’t use half the belongings we brought. I also recommend utilizing the grocery delivery service- Evan was great and got us what we ordered without having to lug a bunch on to the island. The only other suggestion is to make sure you have great bug spray on hand…if you are sensitive to insect bites like we are. Truly can’t give this place enough accolades. We decided on day one that we would be booking again next summer!!

Absolute Gem!

The property was perfectly nestled between the beach side and bay side with a very short walk to both. Super clean, cozy, and and full of amenities at your fingertips. Everything you'd need (and more!) for a stay at a remote beach house. Beach was gorgeous and the sunsets were amazing. Although we had a small glitch with the TV, it didn't deter from the wonderful time we had. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us and our doggos. We will definitely be back in the future!

Adorable cottage

We had a wonderful few days on LGI! The owners were more than accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of! The cottage was well stocked and had the most perfect cozy vibe. Amazing Spring Break!

Great place to relax and unwind! It was perfect for me and my daughter and our dogs. Very short walk from the dock and to the beach. They had the most comfortable beds ever! The best sleep I've had in months was right here. They had everything in the kitchen we needed to cook our meals. My best suggestion is please don't overpack. There's no need with a washer and dryer. The island folks are so friendly - the other renters and the homeowners. LGI can't be beat and this is the perfect place to stay!

Absolute perfection! Incredible stay.

Simply Adrift was the perfect property for our little family. It had EVERYTHING we needed and so many fun extras. We couldn't find many places on LGI that offered kayaks as part of the rental, and this property offered two. This was such a highlight of our trip. The whole family was able to kayak together alongside dolphins AND manatees...unforgettable! There was a large gorilla cart for transporting the provided chairs/cooler/beach tent, etc which made it so easy. You are very close to both the beach and the bay which was a big plus. My husband caught fish from the dock, and it was an easy walk to the beach for my 18- month-old. They had plenty of beach toys for my kids to play with. The house was spotless and BEAUTIFULLY decorated. You can tell the owners have put a lot of time and thought into creating cozy spaces. Decor isn't something I normally think about when booking a place, but it is a very calming/relaxing environment all around. The screened-in porch is a must. We spent almost all of our time there when at the house. Outdoor shower gets hot! We didn't shower indoors once. Michelle was wonderful from start to finish. Clear and fast communication. She provided so many details to help with logistics of getting to and around the island. If you are a little intimidated by traveling to LGI with kids, don't be. I couldn't believe how easy it was. I booked for next year within 20 minutes of check-in. I think it was the best week of our lives!

Cutest house!

My family found the house to be so cute and liked that it was nestled away on the island. The property owners were available if we needed anything, but we didn’t. We loved having the outdoor shower after our time at the beach. The beach was just perfect and nearly empty for our entire stay, everyone we encountered was so sweet. There is an adorable Chapel on the island and my husband attended the Sunday service. LGI is like camping, so just make sure to bring some big balm. Spray didn’t work for me. For some reason I got many more bug bites than my family.

Beautiful home, though, not the home I rented

I reserved, and paid for Sea Turtle, a low profile cottage, directly on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico. I was informed at the last minute that Sea Turtle was not available (?). The property manager relocated me to a different home, not on the Gulf, but rather behind homes on the beach; inland. The home was 20 ft. up in the air, a new build, and we'll appointed. The trouble was I have Osteoarthritis in my right hip and knee, and there were 30 steps at a sharp incline. I also had to carry my 14 year old dog as she could not do the stairs. It made for a very challenging stay; grateful I did not fall. I did contact the property manager to see if I could move to a more accommodating home for my disability, such as Sea Turtle. Unfortunately for me and my 2 small dogs, they did not come up with a suitable alternative. Instead, I was told I was a problem. I am still perplexed why a property was listed as available, and then it wasn't. It is still listed as available, and it is not. My dream was to be in a home, on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico, watching the sunset from a porch, for the 2 weeks of my stay. That dream did not come true. I am just grateful to be alive with all those stairs. I made the best of a not so pleasant stay. Thank you.

We so much enjoyed our stay at the beach cottage nestled in the trees. The decor was soothing and the vibe relaxing. We rented a golf cart which so easy to get to beach but its only a short walk regardless. We hope to come back.

AMAZING Beach Cottage

What a wonderful, cozy, cute beach house! Michelle & Tom went above and beyond as hosts to make sure we had all we needed for our week stay. Great bedding, towels, furnishings, decorations, beach amenities and so much more! Too many positives to list each one! Just know if you rent this beach house, you will not be disappointed!
