Staff felt a bit disconnected, seem to be more preoccupied with busloads of tourist arriving soon. We were greeted by staff in front of the hotel. As we entered the lobby, we were provided beverages and hand towels to freshen up. The room was spacious and even had a scale for weighing our bags. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Palace Gate Hotel! Our suite was huge and comfortable, with great views. The common areas are lovely. The staff were all super nice and helpful in the hotel (less so in the restaurant for breakfast). Communication was excellent starting even before our arrival. We would skip the breakfast buffet next time though, since the staff couldn’t care enough to keep hot coffee available, and the supposedly warm food was usually cold. The food selection wasn’t great either. I hear the restaurant is good for dinner though, so it must be run by a different team in the evening.
