The staff was extraordinarily helpful to us! They secured a taxi so we didn't have to haul our suitcases to the taxi area. More importantly, we inadvertently left two items at the hotel when we went to board our cruise ship. They called us to let us know and brought the items to the security gate at the pier. Thank you for going out of your way!

Philipsburg is best avoided but if you had to stay there this is a fairly decent hotel, even if a little frayed around the edges. It is right on the boardwalk. We had a very large room with a separate living room overlooking the beach and kitchenette. There is no patio but you can open the front window completely to feel like you’re sitting outside. The large king bed is comfortable. The kitchenette is minimally stocked. It is very expensive but that seems to be the norm for Philipsburg. The main problem was the lack of sound insulation. The reception is not very helpful so don’t rely on them for information. OK for a couple of days but I wouldn’t recommend for longer.

The hotel was decent for the night a bit pricey but ok. Checking was easy and fast. The lady did not help us with the taxi as requested but we figured it. The owner was nicer

We chose this hotel mainly for the location, and that’s the one strong point; it’s on the main street and genuinely close to shops, bars and the beach. Check-in was fine, but not particularly warm or welcoming. The bigger issue is the condition of the hotel overall: it feels dated and a bit run down. Our room was clean, but very tired. There was a cleaning cart left outside our door when we arrived (we moved it ourselves, not a huge deal, but not a great first impression). The fridge was old and worn, and the bathroom amenities were disappointing (toiletries were partially used (shampoo/shower gel only about a third full)) and the hand soap was watered down. It didn’t feel like a 3-star standard. We also booked a “partial sea view,” which is a generous description at best. The balcony mainly overlooks a building, and you can only see a small sliver of sea if you stand in a specific spot and turn toward the narrow side. This isn’t a balcony view you can actually sit and enjoy. Finally, the listing mentioned tea and coffee facilities, there was a kettle, but no tea or coffee provided, which again feels misleading. Overall, the location is convenient, but the hotel doesn’t match a 3-star experience. Between the dated condition, misleading room descriptions, and poor-quality/used amenities, it wasn’t an enjoyable stay and I wouldn’t return.
