Nice hotel with friendly staff. Excellent bar staff and beach attendant. Clean rooms. Very uncomfortable mattress. King mattress (single headboard affixed to wall) was really two worn twin mattesses pushed together with no attempt to “hide” the seam. Odd that no front desk so hard to find an “ambassador” when needed.

This was our first trip to Barbados. The hotel delivered on all aspects of what a small, boutique hotel should provide. The location is excellent.The area restaurants were all fabulous. We hope to return very soon.
What a refreshing change from the corporate luxury hotel. At first the seeming lack of polish made me question my choice, until I realised that the relaxed, friendly, informal atmosphere is exactly what makes this place special. Totally unpretentious but still luxurious - with welcome touches such as cool towels brought poolside, or complimentary beachside ice cream.The staff were friendly, the rooms great, the beach delightful. Special mention to Joanna, the manager, who could not have been more gracious and professional. Even though the place is couple heavy (lots of honeymooners) there was a wonderful welcome to us as 2 gay friends.
Spent July 4th weekend at THe House. Everything about the place was great, starting with the staff who were warm, welcoming and accomodating! Rooms on the 2nd and third floor had great view of the sea. Beach is lovely.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything was top rate, the staff, location, food, views, etc... Will definetely be making a return trip in the future.
Hotel was great. Full breakfast, tea time, and happy hour were just some of the all inclusive perks. Free Wifi in room and the location is wonderful. Walking distance to a few restaurants. Short cab ride from others. Very nice people!
The hotel has a beautiful lounge area, and great umbrellas/chairs on the beach which gives the impression of a super nice hotel. However, sitting on the beach you get significant pressure from the people who run the complimentary beach services to do the pay sports such as jet skiing. The biggest problem is there are two different guys vying and battling for your money. Also there are people who come by and try to sell you jewelry and paintings. And the rooms are not as nice as we expected for the price and number of stars. If you are not on the meal plan (we weren't) the food is very expensive. Every meal is at least 25-50 US dollars and there are no cheaper food options at the hotel. On the plus side the complimentary champagne buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening canapes are really good and you can skip a meal here or there. We did not rent a car because we were not comfortable driving on the left side of the road. When we got there the drivers were rather aggressive and the roads narrow so we were glad we did not rent a car. However, there are very few places you can get from the hotel that's walking distance. There's a gas station where you can buy snacks, And 1 or 2 hotels you can walk to. We felt a little trapped. Recommend doing some sort of tour/private tour/jet ski tour to snorkel with sea turtles and over the sunken barge (our favorite part). We also enjoyed Harrison's Cave (although not as nice as Carlsbad Caves) and an Island Safari tour. The best part of the hotel is for no extra charge you can have a romantic dinner planned on the beach, you just need to reserve one of the two tables they set out on the beach. Also all the ambassadors and people working at the hotel are very nice, our favorite ambassador was Andrew, he really made you feel at home and would try really hard to book the tour/dinner reservation with no notice for the same day.

Booked it for a 10 year anniversary. We relaxed, were pampered by the staff, ate, drank and were merry. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and would return in a heart beat.
The hotel was nice and my wife and i were very pleased with our hotel!
We loved the hotel. The atmosphere was great and the staff were exceptional. Very friendly and always there to meet your needs. The grounds were very nice and well maintained. Although the pool was small it was not used much with the beautiful beach right in front of us. Our room was very clean and comfortable. My only small complaint was that the drinks were a bit overpriced. I never mind paying a little more for a good drink but they were a bit stingy on the alcohol for what you paid. They bartenders however were great and we had some fun times at the bar with them.
staff were great[...]the hotel was hip and i prefer boutique hotels so it fit the bill..
