A decent stay on a budget.

The hotel was in a good location, in the heart of a very genuinely Parisian feeling district - good if you are after a real (but safe) Paris, not a postcard Paris. Plenty of bakeries and cafes and eateries around. Eiffel Tower visible from the distance, about 30mins walk away. Nearest metro station 3 mins away. Most Paris attractions within 30mins metro radius. The building is an old one and unfortunately piping must be from the previous centuries - the smell of sewage in the bathroom was pretty severe. So, our room had plenty of character and charm, but was very smelly at times. It did not have Eiffel Tower view, which we sort of expected after looking at the images and hotel's website saying that most rooms in the hotel have the Eiffel view. (we stayed in a triple room) We were with our dog and were quite surprised that there was no dog bed or bowl or anything else. We are used to being provided with a dog bed and bowls for food and water when we arrive with the dog and pay extra for it. Overall value for money was really good, would stay there again if we were on a tight budget.

Very pleasant hotel. Friendly staff, good location to transport links and local cafes. Eiffel Tower was around a 25 minute walk from the hotel which furthermore a pleasant area at all times of the day we felt very safe for our first stay in Paris. The room we had was the classic double a great size with a big comfortable bed, gorgeous yet unique bathroom with bath and shower. Traditional sized balcony with a great view of the Eiffel Tower and double ‘French’ patio doors. Not many negatives at all however each time you leave you have to hand over your room key and request it again when you return which is a slight worry that our rooms weren’t entirely safe and if like during our stay the receptionist is away from the desk on an occasion you have to wait, there is no bell and no answer when called out. The lift is very small and we were told one person at a time and we were 5th floor so the stairs got tiring. We had a member of staff enter our room whilst we were in with the television on and a do not disturb card in place.

The hotel was located in a lovely neighborhood, with amazing views of the Eiffel tower. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Triple room ideal for family of 3

2 night stay for 2 adults and a child. Good location, close to metro, shops, restaurants and cafes. Hotel has character and is thoughtfully decorated and furnished although due to age of building doesn't have some of the facilities of modern, purpose built hotels.

After booking this hotel we immediately realized we had made a mistake as we were quoted in USD rather than CAD for which we always book with Expedia. After contacting Expedia immediately to cancel, The hotel would not allow this. Both the hotel and Expedia pointed the finger at each other . It cost us 320CAD a night for a 3 star hotel. When re arrived prior to 6pm the Hoel told us our room was not ready as they were not expecting us, despite that we had already paid and it was non refundable. Kudos to the hotel manager and agent for offering us breakfast that wasn't included in the rate. We had to wait over an hour for them to make up our room into a twin. The breakfast was the same everyday so for longer stays, it became mundane. However the joyful breakfast lady from Haiti seem to be the most joyful staff and she made the day. Expedia on the other hand would not take any responsibility as the desk agent at the hotel would have cancelled the room had Expedia communicated to them in more detail rather than saying we just needed to cancel. The manage said that Expedia was the worst of 3rd party booking sights that they have dealt with. We tried to get some renumeration from Expedia when we got back home. Expedia's customer service quality and communication seems to have greatly declined overall. This was shocking to us as inn the past our experience with Expedia has been exemplary
