Anniversary getaway

The property was beautiful and I really enjoyed the peacefulness. The views of the sunrise were amazing and the smell of the fruit trees with the gentle breeze blowing made for a super relaxing experience. The cottage was well maintained and had its own sweet charm to it.

Cute farm, great ocean views

Property was a little hard to find at first but after communicating with the owner it met expectations. Wonderful out of town experience, farm was peaceful and quiet , rain was soothing, overall a great a stay.

Peaceful and cozy

This was by far the best place we stayed out of 2 other places. We loved the cottage feel and the morning sunrise was awesome!I wished we booked another night, my husband slept great and that was a plus! If/when we return we will make this a place to visit again. If you want to feel like Hawaii this is a perfect spot to get the vibes.

We loved it! A rural Hawaii experience! Clean and had everything we needed. Very cool farm to explore. The country store is neat with live music on the weekends.

Peaceful Cottage with Ocean View

Great cottage on a quite farm with views of the ocean looking east so great for watching the sunrise. Very clean and well equipped living areas; kitchen was great for cooking easy meals. Host were great too, hands off but easy to communicate with. Farm fresh eggs, coffee and produce available at request and reasonable prices. We would absolutely stay here again.

Small, but had all the essentials.

When all three cottages are rented out, the parking can be a bit challenging. For someone who is not about the glitz and glam of a high end hotel, this is perfect. Love the sounds of all the farm animals in the evening and early morning. Would stay here again for sure.

Lovely Cottage tucked away on Hamakua Coast

We enjoyed our brief one night stay at the Tiki Cottage (I think it was called?) Our hosts were quiet and busy with their farm work. We were not successful in following the printed directions to the waterfall hike. Beautiful views and gorgeous sunrise 🌅

Perfect property

The owners checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable. The view was incredible. This is a prime location for dinner at the Country Store-which I highly recommend as the food is yummy and they have live music. The property is close to several waterfalls and the cow sanctuary where you can literally hug cows! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful and quiet

Everything was beautiful and clean. Looks just like the pictures. Only problem was that I didn't have service and the internet wouldn't connect correctly.

Unit had a nice view, airy, plenty of room. Had some problems with kitchen appliances working properly. Didn’t realize from the listing it was a shared bathroom. Vehicle noise at night was a bit loud.

Tranquil Getaway!

The location feels quite remote but is quite easy to get to and on a very lush and green part of the island. Excellent check in instructions from the host. The situation is simple and affordable and very low stress. We were able to get away from our cares and relax! Never noticed the guests in the cottage next door. Everything with our cottage was as I had hoped... except that the shower took so long to heat up that I thought there was no hot water, and then when it did, it didn't stay the same temp. But overall a lovely place.

Peaceful Tiki Cottage

This was a favorite stay for us. Wonderful relaxing property with ocean view and cooling breezes. We also loved the nearby Papa’aloa Country Store and cafe. We will definitely come back here if we visit the Big Island again. Sidra and Chris were gracious hosts, and the eggs from their farm were delicious. Cell service was spotty. Be sure to screen shot a detailed map from Google BEFORE you get to Papa’aloa, and arrive in daylight. Messages from the owners don’t necessarily get through, especially after working hours. Also, don’t expect a luxury retreat. Our Tiki Cottage was clean and comfortable, if a little spare. Expect to relax and enjoy the communal farm property (there are a few cottages) and leave refreshed and happy!

This place wasn’t even discoverable! We couldn’t find it. I stopped at several places including that general store. No one heard of it! Hours and hours of driving in such a remote area. No signal to communicate with anyone! In the dark. You can’t check in til 4. The address was just impossible

little cabin

The grounds and the view are great, the cabin has been partially restored. It was a very rustic kitchen set-up, but we made it work. Only real problem were ants. They could find a single grain of sugar anywhere.We named the rooster that hangs around there Hei-Hei. We also had the gecko brothers who kept sneaking into kitchen.The pond has toads in it and they sing at night, counted 6 one night. The water lily bloomed while we were there.The temp on the water heater needs to be turned up a little, it is just above warm.Feeding the chickens every morning was fun, they got to know me when I come walking up they all come running.Made it down to the stream and waterfalls a couple of times, absolutely beautiful. The hike down it not for the inexperience hiker, loose and steep, but worth it if you are able to do it. Cold water.Papaaloa store is a great place to stop in, they have a little of everything. They have a cafe and Fri. and Sat. nights they have live music.5:30-7:30, great food and nice people.I would definitely stay here again, would like to see this cabin after it is fully renovated.

Where do I even begin with how DISGUSTING this place is. I get that it is a "farm" but I didn't realize I was going to be living like an animal in BUGS and SQUALOR. I wish I could add photos to this review as a fair warning to all. I understand a few bugs getting in the room, its a humid, jungly habitat, but the host didn't even bother to clean up the THOUSANDS of dead bugs all over the floor, the counters, the window.. Then the live ones crawling all over the bed and my luggage. I fled the scene as soon as I could secure another room and just ate the $500 I spent. IT WAS THAT BAD. I would have rather used a public toilet seat as a pillow than spent another night here. But if you would like to see an advanced civilization of insects on the verge of establishing democracy and higher education then this is the place for you!!

Cute

This cottage is darling, and off the beaten path for sure! Thankfully the host was available to stay on the phone while we found the place in the dark. We were very grateful for that! Unfortunately, the next night when the power went out to the bathroom cottage, they were unresponsive. We were left to shower by cell phone flashlight, but the water was warm and we were in Hawaii, so it wasn't terrible.

Amazing stay!

The sunrise ocean views here are an amazing way to start any day. The communication with the host was a little lacking, but the beautiful location more than made up for it. We stayed in one of their 3 cabins with a short walk to the bathroom and a our own protected outdoor kitchen. We really enjoyed the eggs and fruit from the site and sitting and enjoying the endless views. I would definitely recommend this stay!

Super nice property if you want to connect with nature! The water can be poor sometimes but it's part of the experience! Super cute place with nice beds and kitchen with everything you need! The communication with the owner was not that unfortunately :/

“Cottage” is a generous description. Rustic accommodations with few amenities. Shared bathroom. No lights at night to show the way to the room. Not at all peaceful. Dogs barking a good portion of the night. Cut our stay short…left after one night to find a hotel room.
