Good location with some details to be desired.

First time in Panama and staying in old town was definitely a good idea. So many restaurants to walk to and shops to explore! The VRBO is perfectly located in one of the main squares and is very spacious. However the group managing it left a lot to be desired. The unit was dirty when we arrived. The walls are a rustic charming style but made of this crumbly material so dirt constantly falls off of them on to the bed and living area. The bathrooms had hair on the floors and old used bars of soap in the shower. The sheets had brown stains presumably from the dirt coming off the walls. We called to have them clean the unit and they changed the sheets but the layers of dirt on the floor was just swept up against the wall and left. During our stay the internet went out for a day and the gates to the building did not lock and were not secure so anyone could come into the building. Over all it was a nice property it just needs to be managed better.

Issues

I had so many issues with this place starting with asking for the location of the property. We rented 3 different VRBOs on our stay and I wanted to plug the addresses into my phone before we arrived in Panama due to lack of service. This was the only property that gave me any issues stating that it was a security issue. I wasn’t asking for a specific code. Just wanted the address. We also arrived from the San Blas islands with all of our luggage and asked if we could check in early so we didn’t have to walk around Casco Viejo, we were told that it wasn’t possible because they needed 4 hours to get the place “perfect”. Lastly I get a message saying that a stain was on one of the towels and they will have to charge me 10 and then on my CC statement it shows they charged 27.00.

Thank you, a little process improvement, but overall great.

Was nice place, but now that I have been here I realize I could have found a less expensive room in the area. Would have been nice to have known the process on how we were going to be getting into the building ahead of time. And then again closer to the time with the codes. Only because our room was being cleaned late and we did not receive communication until right about 3, after I started texting the host, which made us a little nervous, when we had not heard anything the day of.
