I was really excited to stay at this property for a relaxing bachelorette weekend with my friends, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.We had requested an early check-in and were told we’d be contacted as early as 1 PM once the house was ready. By 1:30 PM, no one had reached out, so I had to follow up with Benchmark Management myself. It would’ve been nice if someone had actually followed through and contacted us like they said they would—especially since we were trying to make the most of our short stay.The biggest disappointment once we arrived was the observation deck—half the cushions were missing, which meant not all of us could relax and enjoy the space together, which had been a big selling point for us.While the home initially looked clean, I quickly noticed cobwebs around the house, and worse, we found huge cockroaches in both the bottom floor bathroom and the 3rd floor hallway bathroom. I notified Benchmark Management immediately, but never received any updates about whether pest control would be coming during our 3-night stay. Eventually, I had to contact VRBO directly just to make sure there would be some kind of refund or resolution.Overall, this trip could have been great, but several avoidable issues made it frustrating. Next time, I’ll be much more cautious about trusting the management company to deliver what’s promised.
