Blood on the wall and heat didnt work in first room. Requested new room, 2nd room had connecting doors with antique unsecure locks. Possible homeless people who muttered nonsense in the lobby. There are stairs at every entrance. Impossible to get luggage cart through the doors and hallways. It looked super cute and boutique online, just run down and dirty in person.

I love the older style of the building. The tile work in the lobby is wonderful. A very unique stay and I'll definitely keep it in mind on future trips! Pro tip: the biscuits and gravy on the breakfast menu is top shelf!

While it is an older hotel, and it is expected that many features will be dated, I found it to be a charming experience. I have paid a lot more, for a lot less. The staff were very friendly.

Clean room, nice staff, late night bar and friendly locals. The hotel is dated but this is reflected in the price, it’s always my go to place. The beds are comfy and clean only downside is the air conditioning units can be a little noisy.

Wonderful breakfast

We enjoyed coming back to our home town and reminiscing. Hotel Ottumwa was the perfect location for us. The made to order breakfast was fantastic and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was very good. Hotel was clean & quiet. Definitely dated but worth the stay. It was walkable distance to the venue we were attending. Shower had wonderful pressure & plenty of hot water. One of the delights of the room. Tom Tom's the bar at the hotel came in clitch with all night pizzas & nicely priced drinks. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
