The place is spotless, but it’s very loud and chaotic as soon as you walk in. I am used to casino in Orillia where you walk into a concourse and then you walk into the gaming section or you go to the concert area. The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice, but the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I think I got four hours of sleep. We did have a mysterious man knock on our door, telling us he was coming to check our electrical and was our TV working. Well, the TV was going and the lights were all on. He wasn’t wearing a uniform from the hotel and didn’t have any ID. It was just holding a multimeter in his hand. I told him we were fine and shut the door. I asked security and the people at the front desk and they said they had not sent anybody up. Thankfully, we did not let him in our room. This was 4:30 in the afternoon. The security team seemed to take it seriously but nobody contacted us to see if anybody had come back or if we were OK. The restaurants are a few and far between. The hotel is very remote so it’s not like you could go out and grab food anywhere. We did get a pizza from the casino and it was amazing and fairly reasonably priced.

The front desk clerk told us that our room was on the third floor but it was actually on the fourth, which led to some confusion trying to find it. Why is room 1411 on the fourth floor and not the 14th? Why not number it as 411? Weird. She was also kind of abrasive about the error on the machine, blamed me for the incidentals signature not going through when it was not my fault the thing crashed. Not a great start.
