Wonderful cabin on private island

Our time on Gistholmen was FANTASTIC! However, it started with the hiccup of the VRBO description being on the wrong island (it is NOT on Ingmarsö Södra, an 8 minute walk from the ferry dock as the description is or at least was, hopefully that gets updated!). It is on Gistholmen that you need to take the Waxholmsbolaget ferry to (no need to book ahead, but depending on the day and season there might only be two potential drop-off and pick-up times). Our lovely host offered to refund our money, but we jumped through the hoops and got there and absolutely loved our time there in the sweetest cabin, rowing around the islands and spending evenings in the superb sauna.

Forest Escape

Gistholmen is a secluded, forested island with a beautiful view and is well-connected to ferries to the larger Archipelago islands. The cabins have a grown-up camp feel.

Beautiful island getaway

Absolutely gorgeous and well kept island. So much to explore and a great place to relax and take in all the nature. The cabin was comfortable and clean. There was a discrepancy with the listing but the host was very responsive and did a great job resolving the matter!! If you’re looking to get away from the city for a few days, this is the place to go! Amazing sunsets!
