Well, this place seemed alright online when we booked, but I guess we did not read any of the reviews. This hotel is definitely is more than weird and kind of a sex hotel as far as we can tell. We were traveling through and only there for one night, so we didn't change our plans, but we would not stay again.

The room was HUGE! The steam shower and king size bed made it a couple's paradise. The staff was welcoming and spoke good English. The decore is a little dated but overall the continuing of the hotel is in good shape. This is a Japanese love hotel so as long as you're comfortable with what that entails then this is a great place to stay.

Spacious and interesting! Great service.

We needed a place to stay to see a few site and meet a friend, but soon realized this was like an anniversary hotel, or something like that. The furniture was like something out of Austin Powers, and the room was spacious, especially compared to most hotels in Japan. The bed was a bit hard, but was large, at least, and there was a big TV and karaoke machine, but we were too tired from touring to try it out! The service was great, as they provided us with things like a lint roller, screwdriver and ice. We also used the washing machine. It was pretty good!

Convenience and great service if you have a budget

Excellent location, conveniently located beside Nippombashi station as well as Dotonburi market. Great service with hospitable staff too. Got the deluxe room, which came with ample space and even a Jacuzzi. The street it's on seems shady though. Would still recommend to all travellers looking for comfort and convenience.

Hotel Alten the Best

Our stay at hotel Alten was surprisingly amazing. I was not expecting a nice hotel in the area. After I booked I wanted to cancel because after reading more about the location of the hotel it gave me an impression that it is in a red light area. I am so glad I did not cancel my booking. Our room was big that my family each occupied their specific corner. The room was so nice far different from a 5 star hotel. The hotel is generous with free fruits and snacks daily and a beer present on the last day. And most important the staff Okayama is so gracious and very reliable giving us all the information we needed. Kudos to her and to the other 3 staff I forgot the names including one Filipina. We shall be back next year. Congrats to Hotel Alten

It's a love hotel

This place is what is known in Japan as a "love hotel". It's a place where people rent a room for a number of hours for sex. The decor and functionality of the room reflects this. The bed is two mattresses stacked on top of each other and is not comfortable. The entirety of the floor is tile, probably to make cleaning up easier. It is also in a very uncomfortable part of town. This may be the most legit looking hotel around, but that doesn't say much when there is a Christmas themed love hotel across the street. My recommendation would be for Orbitz to remove this hotel from their listings, since it really isn't a hotel at all. If you're reading this review, look for somewhere else, the only thing you will get from this hotel is a whole bunch of discomfort.

This is a sex hotel.

Well we booked this room at the last minute because our original hotel (because of the day difference) was booked for the next evening so we scrambled to find a hotel near by at 8:30 at night. We had been traveling all day were extremely tired and just wanted to end the day. From the outside it looks super normal and nice. After about 30 minute of trying to communicate with the front desk (not much English spoken here, although the woman did try awfully hard) they had no real computer system so because we made our reservation online about 30 minutes ago it was like an act of Congress to figure everything out. Once squared away we were escorted to our room by red arrows and then arrived at our room with the room number lit up in red. Once inside I wasn't sure if I was in a dream or a kick back from the 60's. Wallpapered panel doors and walls and the interior looked like a school cafeteria. I started opening lots of cupboards and to my amazement I found a condom machine and another surprise was a karaoke microphone and equipment. I decided to enjoy a soak in the jacuzzi tub and saw a TV in the wall...turned it on to find porn on every channel. Even stranger was every time you opened the door to your room a buzzer would go off at the front desk. I do believe this was a brothel at one time that never changed. Very surprised Expedia promotes this hotel. Quite a good laugh and a story to tell when we get home.

OK with love hotel but this was not a good one

There was a lot of waiting due to confusion from staff. It does not look like they have purchased new sheets or bath mats etc since the 70's and didn't even bother with sheets over the mattress. I did ask for a smoking room and that smell does not bother me but there was a strong smell of mould in the room. There were cockroach baits around the room. I decided to leave after 2 hours. For the price you would think that some sheets on the mattress would not be too much of a stretch, especially considering it's a love hotel.

Love hotel conveniently located for traveling

This hotel was conveniently located by the Osaka train stop 'Nippombashi'. There were many attractions that were within walking distance from the hotel: Kuromon Market, Dotonbori, etc. While the JR Namba station is a bit of walk, for those with JR passes, cities like Kobe, Kyoto, Himeiji, are within an hour or 2 of train ride on the JR Shinkansen trains. The negative aspect is that the hotel staff are not proficient in English, so be patient with them if you only speak English. Also, the room that we got was gave us the impression that this was a love hotel, so this hotel may not be the most suitable for family travelers.

元々ラブホだったとの事だったので雰囲気はラブホ。でもこの立地でワンコと一緒に宿泊が出来、駐車場も有りは最高に良いと思います。加湿器もお願いするとお部屋まで持って来て頂けました。 道頓堀付近の街をわんこと堪能して、そのまま散歩しながらホテルまで帰れました。 また利用させて頂きます。

元々ラブホテルだったのでしょう、入る気恥ずかしさをクリアできれば、部屋は広いしベッドは広くて伸び伸び、浴室も広くてジェットバス＆テレビ付き。リラックス快眠約束できます！ 人間の宿泊は安いのに、ペットホテルが高い大阪の謎の価格設定、、郊外で泊まるしかないかなぁと考えていたところアルテンさんを見つけました。 何と言っても犬連れでの大阪繁華街でお安く泊まれたので、もうその点は文句なしです。 おかげでワンコたちとの思い出がまた１つ増えました。 繁華街にペットと宿泊する難しさをクリアしてくれる素敵なお宿だと思います。 ただ、、なぜ鏡の周りにコンセントがないのか、、備え付けのドライヤーはありましたが、自身のカーラーが使いたかった。。 あと、タオル掛けが１つもなくて困りました。 なんでだろう？？
