Everything! I arrived at the site after 8 pm and found it was impossible to check in to my room. There was no one to answer the on site phone and no one answered or responded to my voice mail on an emergency phone number that I found clipped on the back door. (The note was removed the next day and never replaced) After paying a second hotel for my first night in Ormond Beach, I did check in the next day. None of the staff asked why I didn’t stay the first night. None cared. The room smelled - my wife and couldn’t agree on how to describe the smell but it wasn’t a clean fresh smell. Towels were old and past their prime. Their towel policy is bring them a dirty towel and they would swap it for a clean one (just as mediocre as the dirty, just washed more recently). I asked a staff member how to get clean towels and she did not volunteer to bring any to use. We were supposed to stay a week and the staff did not enter the room for any reason during our stay. I guess the highlight of the stay was that our rental car wasn’t broken into. We had enough and left a day early. When I went to let a staff member know we were leaving early (11:30 am Sunday) the office door was locked. A guy showed up & I told him we were checking out early and he didn’t ask why. Just another person who couldn’t have cared less. But they did keep the money I paid for 2 nights in the room that we didn’t use, 1st because I couldn’t, last night cause we stayed at a real hotel. Never again for the Chateaux.
The view is nice. That’s what sucked us in.

Easy check-in. BUT rooms not fully prepared! No toilet paper or tissues in room at check-in. Had to return to desk for supplies. Discovered no TV remote 1st night and unable to get one until next day. Discovered coffee maker missing holder for coffee pod 1st morning. Beds are FOAM MATTRESS, not very supportive! NOT REALLY HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE (could be roll-in shower but no handheld shower head, no bath bench, no toilet grab bar, toilet wedged between glass shower enclosure and sink, no easily accessible outlets...hidden behind dresser and headboard). Called office to install extension cords behind dresser and headboard which they did immediately; also provided plastic porch chair for shower.

old wore out room . no dresser to put my clothes in ..2 clothes hangers , no chair no couch one little tiny night stand with no drawers. floor was dirty . a proffessional clean once a year would help.. and maybe use bleach to clean the mold .. no usb outlets..room had a funky moldy smell. there was a strong wind so i left the windows open for about an hour and that helped with the smell.. so the staff could air the dam rooms out ya think.. it did look like a blind handyman made an attempt to update the shower tile to a more modern look but i could have done a better job. u get like 2 napkins to clean up with.. to use the stove you have to a drawer open to plug it in.. totally basic stuff for a low level handyman or maintenance person to fix in less then five minutes with proper tools.

They have signs at desk, under renovation...it sure is!!!! Frontbdesk staff friendly and view wonderful, but bathroom in room in very poor condition. Suprised Hotel.com has this place on there site. Pictures must be fromyears ago. Nit even a shower mat for showering. Will not go back.
