The hotel is poorly signed and hard to find. It advertises a non existent restaurant more than the hotel. Wifi sketchy at the best. Breakfast good.

3 day stay on Lake Orta

A beautiful location with great views of the lake and a walk around Omegna. Paid parking was close by and reasonably priced. Staff were wonderful and their associated restaurant fantastic, first rate good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was fine. Room a little dated but great value for price and very clean and spacious for the lake view room.

A basic hotel in a beautiful location

Then hotel is basic but positioned right at the head of Lake Orta.. Uninspiring public rooms. The shower was minute and inoperable. There was an unpleasant chemical smell in the room. The breakfast was adequate with tinned fruit etc. Parking in the area is very difficult and the garage is a five minute walk away. The town has very little in the way of restaurants. In fact we found only one small pizzeria open at 7 pm!

Great hotel in a beautiful area

The area around Orta Lago is very beautiful. We booked this hotel in Omegna for only one night as our main purpose was to visit the Alessi Museo in Crusinallo and it was the best deal nearby. Turned out our hotel was situated right at the end of the lake in a perfect position. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, modernly appointed, clean and with generous amenities. Plus the highlight was a huge balcony overlooking the lake with a spectacular view. Included breakfast was adequate and best of all had barista coffee made to order. Our only regret was we didn’t stay longer in this great hotel in such a beautiful area.

Wonderful little gem

Croce Bianca is a charming family owned and run hotel on the northern tip of Lake Orta and the center of the alpine Italian town Omegna. The restaurant serves consistently great northern Italian fare with a great value three course menu for 16 euro with three choices for each course and changing daily. I love to make a two or three night stop at Croce Bianca anytime I on an extended European vacation.

Wi-Fi is a problem

The hotel is nicely located, especially if you arrive by train. The staff was very nice. The problem with wi-fi is that the hotel doesn't offer anything; tthey tell you to use the town's free wi-fi. Omegna forces you off their network after about 20 minutes or so and you have to log in again. During busy hours you won't get on. And in my room the connection was too weak to get on. The only place I found where I could make a Skype call was outside on the west shore of the lake.

Right beside the lake the location is perfect. Free parking with in 5 minutes walk. The staff is nice but laks a little bit of language besides Italian. The breakfast is good and has a lot choices where as the coffee could be more Italian style. We had a room with a lake view which was at night not the best choice because the main road is right under your window and it could get noisy. All in all we recomend this hotel.
