Just came back from a week at The Rusty Nail. great location and fenced in yard which is hard to find in Deep Creek. We rented a boat for a few days so very convenient to have our dock right out back! (All docks are floating… so unfortunately kind of impossible to sit and have a lake view) there is no flat spot to sit by the water or be able to walk or swim in… just the pathway to the pier. Huge great house- TONS of kitchen storage and closets. Regular drip coffee. Filtered water fridge. An extra fridge and extra freezer in the mud room. Great loft area with poker table. Basketball game in basement. Plenty of room for fam of 13:) Negatives are- def needs a deep clean- things haven’t been scrubbed in YEARS(bathrooms) grimy.- Hot tub runs SUPER hot-temp not correct (Mng was notified of all of this… not corrected while we were there.) -Washer doesn’t work… agitator is broken so couldn’t wash clothes or towels.-Sauna is broken- notified them on day 2… no one ever came out. -back yard has never been mowed- so not possible to play any games out back…. Only good for the dog.-bears are around!! Twice they broke off the locks on the bins and tore apart the trash(hit a few houses on the street)) hit a few houses on the street.Management did send someone out to repair the locks… Not something that can be controlled but a heads up that they wonder at night:)All in all a great big house and perfect location… but outdated for the price

House was great for multi family and pulling up a boat. It had everything thing we needed for young kids, however the rental company vacasa was a pain to work with. We had very minor issues like tv and they kept claiming the local person would reach out… then we had a bear issue with trash where the bear had ripped open the door the day we got there and trash was everywhere. We sent it to vacasa and they again said a local person will reach out. The next day my husband went out and cleaned up all the trash and put it in the other cans that had the bear lock still on it. I kid you not an hour later we took trash up the hill and the bear and ripped the door off again. We called and messaged them about the issue and again “someone local will be calling you” I won’t be renting from a vacasa rental again but the house itself was great.

November Family Getaway

We had a great long weekend staying at The Rusty Nail! This house has literally everything you need inside. We enjoyed all the amenities such as the hot tub, sauna, shuffleboard and basketball hoop in the basement. The large common areas made it easy to all visit and be together. The bedroom arrangements were great and everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. The home looked like it was just recently painted outside and it looks great! The location is private but also so close to everything. The dining room table chairs could use some tlc as many were wobbly and breaking but everything else in the house was in great condition. We enjoyed a hike at Swallow falls and dinner at a local restaurant. The weather was rainy our last day but it was a great day to stay in and take advantage of the large tv in the basement to watch our Steelers get a win!! We loved our stay and would love to book again and come back in the future!

Overall the house exceeded our expectations. There was still trash from the previous tenant upon arrival by the fire pit and in the bins (not bear proof gate) which was weird but other than that we had a great time

Great place, but beware- this is a Vacasa property

Great dog friendly lakefront house in a perfect location. Unfortunately when I booked it on VRBO I failed to notice it’s managed by Vacasa- I’ve had some poor response times with Vacasa in the past. Sure enough with this home we noticed on the first day the upstairs shower had no hot water and little water pressure, forcing 3 adults to walk downstairs to shower in other guest bathrooms. I started messaging Vacasa immediately about the shower- and did not receive a single phone call in 5 days to fix it. Nothing. I got some lame responses on the VRBO app, but no one stopped by to fix it. Not sure what else to say. We had a plumbing issue with a Vacasa rental last summer (septic pump had a blown fuse), and they took 4-5 days to fix that as well. I tried avoiding Vacasa this summer by using VRBO…and here we are. Other than that, the house is great. Great sauna, hot tub worked, fantastic location. Fenced in yard is great for the dog. Just don’t plan on taking any showers upstairs if you rent this place.
