My first trip to Bali was ruined by a terrible hotel experience. We arrived to a room with visible black mold in the bathroom and a strong musty smell. After complaining, we were moved the next day but the new room reeked of fresh paint from ongoing renovations in the building. We were switched multiple times (always within the same building), with every room suffering from either paint fumes or mustiness. Exhausted, we settled for the last one despite the damp odor. The fumes triggered severe allergies: constant sneezing, itchy eyes, and congestion that made enjoying the trip impossible. To top it off, on our final night, loud maintenance work started right outside our room at 4:00 AM, waking us and ruining any chance of sleep. The only positive was the decent breakfast.
Mold, fumes, repeated moves, and early-morning noise left me exhausted instead of refreshed. I cannot recommend this property until they finish renovations and improve room quality. Very disappointed.
