Amazing home near Rum Point

This house made for the perfect family vacation. It was close to Star Fish point and some good snorkeling spots. The kids loved swimming at the house and playing on the beach. The beds were comfortable and the home had everything you needed. It was so relaxing and wonderful.

Incredible getaway

We wanted a house away from 7 mile but all the conveniences of home with a beach and pool. We got it in spades. We’ve stayed at a lot of nice VRBOs for vacation, but the Downing’s place surpassed all expectations and more. From Diving company recommendations to being responsive to every question within minutes(even months out of our stay), to having every possible accommodation for a vacation home, they provided such great insights and comforts of home. We like to travel all over but if we come back to the Caymans, no doubt we will stay here again. Great trip, relaxing and eventful. Thanks again!! Also, shout out to Barbara, the property manager. She was great!,

We stayed march 9-15, 2025, The house is PERFECT! This is our 2nd stay there and we will definatly be back! The house has everything you need for a great stay. We have been all over the island, but thia side is so special, and way less people!!!

Paradise in Cayman

Carolina Kai is a magnificent home. It is as beautiful as the photos show…both inside and out. It is so private and relaxing. Loved the pool and hot tub. Wonderful outdoor spaces we enjoyed so much. And, most importantly the hosts were amazing; extremely helpful and excellent, responsive communicators. Don’t miss the opportunity to have the vacation of a lifetime!

Beautiful property, exactly as shown. Lee communicated quickly to us with great recommendations. We enjoyed a wonderful relaxing week, on the private beach, pool and hot tub. We loved watching the sun rise from the hot tub or dock every morning. Highly recommend Carolina Kai and the Northside!

Life Styles of the Rich and Famous!

By far the BEST VRBO we have ever visited and we have visited many! The home had top of the line everything… pots, pans, ice machine, appliances, beds/bedding, towels/linens, water toys, heated toilet seat with bidet, amazing hot tub, non-slip tile in and around the pool, and so much more. Everything we needed was there. The outdoor area with the grill and rotisserie right by the amazing pool with the most comfortable lounge chairs. Everything was perfect. You will not be disappointed 😍

Exceeded my expectations!

This home is everything you see in the pictures and more. The host was incredibly responsive and offered wonderful recommendations. The home literally had everything you could need for a great vacation. Barbara, the property manager, was also super accommodating which was very helpful since I was traveling with my 3 year old. The home is a bit of a drive away from some of the more popular areas (7 mile beach), but if you’re not looking for that, this is perfect! The beach at the home is grassy, but very clear. The water was also surprisingly warm, which we loved. I 10/10 recommend this home and can’t wait to visit again!

Best Rental Home We Have Ever Stayed In!

What can I say that hasn't already been stated about this incredible home by all of the other reviewers? It is simply the most incredible and well-appointed home we have ever stayed in for a vacation. We started our vacation less than 48 hours after Hurricane Beryl hit the island, but both the inside and outside of the home was cleaned and maintained to where you would never know a major storm had just passed through. I did reach out to Lee for one minor inconvenience we had with an icemaker not working, and he responded immediately with several troubleshooting tips that solved the problem. This is not a rental that stocks just the bare necessities. The design and attention to detail is impeccable. The kitchen has every appliance you could ever want to use. Are you worried about your beverage getting hot outside? Just use one of the many vacuum-insulated drink bottles they have available for you! Maybe pack an insulated cooler for a road trip to the other side of the island. We didn't get to use many of the water toys available to us, but they are plentiful as well. I don't know if we will get a chance to come back to Grand Cayman in the future, but if we do, it will only be if we can come back to stay at Lee's wonderful home!

Quiet Oasis

We were thoroughly impressed with this rental.From the moment we walked in , we were in awe of the great design and flow of the home. We loved the open concept and the view from the living room was awesome. We also loved the close proximity to the private pool and outdoor seating area which was our favorite hangout spot. The house is tastefully decorated with many luxury touches. We would not hesitate to rent again when visiting the Caymans; this is definitely not your typical rental with all the extras included. We were looking for a quiet retreat and this definitely fit the bill, although you are within an arm's reach of Rum point and Kaibo yacht club for dinner and additional beaches.

Beautiful hideaway

I agree with all the other reviews. This place is gorgeous. Every detail of the home, inside and outside, is thoughtful and beautiful - picture perfect- and adds to the overall ambiance of this amazing place. Despite having to depart early due to hurricane Beryl we loved our time here. The house has everything- yes, everything- but we spent most of the time outside in the pool and on the beach. The host has supplied so many amenities you literally never have to leave to enjoy island life. The host is responsive and kind. We are praying this place is unscathed by Beryl because we hope to come back.

What a vacation!! June 2024

Where do I start?! I have been coming to Cayman for 12 years and this stay was the best, by far. Better than Seven Mile, better than east end, in the best lodging possible on the island. Lee and Karen spared no expense in appointing their home. Luxury top to bottom. They hired the most precious property manager (Barbara) who brought my kids fresh mangoes. Every bedroom immaculate, every bathroom spotless, convenient location and they do party it up at Kaibo Beach Club if you are into that kind of thing! I found Chisolms Grocery Store nearby to be better stocked than the Fosters down the road in East End. Just get to Rum Point/ North Side and live it up there. My week it rained a lot due to the tropical systems weirdly coming through and hopefully Hurricane Beryl spares this lovely island this coming Thursday. Lee - you are the best and thank you all the way - 6 stars if I can give it!!!!

It is truly the best place to stay!

The owners are phenomenal at communicating, from the initial booking, to the very thorough binder with details and recommendations of local places. The home is every bit as amazing as the photos! The owners have the home well stocked with everything you need, from floats for the pool, to paddle boards & kayak for the ocean. 10/10 recommend! We will definitely be back.

Most magical trip!!!

If there was a 100 star review, i would give it! This property i cant say enough about. It was so private, beautiful, great location, and the amenities were endless! If we needed anything, it was there. The weather(march16-22 2024) was absolutely perfect. Our favorite was swimming with turtles at rum point, dinners at Tukka and Rum point. We found a beautiful beach on east end. Our least favorite was 7 mile. Too many people!!!!! This island is magical! We spent A lot of time in pool and jacuzzi, paddle boarded and snorkled ALOT. Im telling you this property is PERFECT IN ALL WAYS! Thank you Lee Downing for a perfect vacation

Great stay!

The house is just as listed. It was perfect for the 7 of us. Pool and beach cant be beat! It is a good drive from 7 mile area but that was what we wanted and it was nice and quiet. We hope to come back soon! Owners were great to work with also.

Magical getaway!

This is one of the rare properties where what you get in-person is even better than the listing (and this listing looks amazing)! We could not believe how beautiful and well-appointed Lee and Karen's place was. They had everything we needed, wanted and even things we wouldn't have thought we wanted! This place made for a luxurious vacation for my best friend and I to celebrate our 40th birthdays with our husbands. I hope we get to go back some day.

Amazing getaway

This was an amazing vacation. The home is beautiful. We really enjoyed the sunrise with coffee in the morning. A short walk to starfish point. Rum point not far down the road. Lazy afternoons in the pool! Evenings under the stars in the hot tub. I would definitely recommend this home!!
