Excellent location - really nice staff

We stayed here last weekend with our in-laws to visit family and the hotel was perfect for what we needed. The staff are really nice, I can only mention by name Jonathan on reception who was very helpful but all the other staff on reception were also lovely as well as the bar staff and chambermaids. We had two rooms just above the discotheque which is open at weekends and the night receptionist told us to expect a bit of noise but to be honest we were so whacked out it wasn't a problem. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel because it was a bit expensive but we went to a nearby pub. The rooms are correct and the bathroom spotlessly clean with a lovely shower. We could see the sea from our bedroom windows, the metro station is a 5 minute walk away and the local shopping area is just up the road. We got an excellent rate via Expedia and would certainly consider going again - hopefully the weather will be better the next time.

Worst experience ever !

I booked this hotel firstly because of the external Photo's on the Hotel.com site, I was very disappointed as there was not a photo of the front of the hotel just a beech shot and a picture of " Spanish City" which I thought was the Windsor Hotel but turned out to be a shopping/caff'e complex. the hotel is well located for the beech and main shops, but is very run down, the room was spacious and clean and the shower was excellent. bed was to soft. The main issue we had was that we were disturbed by TV engineers knocking on our door at 10am on Saturday 3rd May ( Bank Holiday weekend ) wanting to install a new TV cable through the external wall. We finished getting ready to go out, after about 3 hrs we returned to the hotel, the receptionist said that the works had been finished but when we got to our room THE DOOR WAS UNLOCKED and the works had not been completed. Know one seemed to be in control of the contractors. We went out again for a few hrs , when we came back the TV was connected but after reprogramming the set twice I still could not get BBC. programs. I was very annoyed at this as I wanted to watch World Snooker. The Hotel manager gave us a free breakfast, but that did not compensate for the appalling situation we were put in. The Hotel staff were very helpful.

My room was spacious I enjoyed how close everything was, the ladies on reception were lovely, there was a extremely loud couple next door to me who kept the noise up for hours in the early hours, I tried to do something about it but the couple were idiots. The next morning I mentioned it at reception she applied a free late checkout as an apology so I could kip better, that was kind and won my stay back to a good stay.

Old hotel dated furniture but was spotlessly clean and bed was clean and comfy. Staff very friendly and helpful . Would definitely stay there again. Great value for money ,, also done a lovely breakfast,

We had problems with guests next door to us with threats of wanting fights with us. They were very loud and were arguing amongst each other. We tried to change rooms which we were told we couldnt. We asked the porter to ring police for us in which he reluctantly did. On arrival the police took us to another hotel which was fully booked. So we got an uber home which cost £53. We have not heard a thing about getting a full refund from this god for saken hellhole of a hotel.

Weekend in Whitley

Great value for money, close to seafront and town centre. Convenient for Metro too. Great that there's parking space although I'm not sure if there would be enough spots for everyone when the hotel is fully booked.

Great value.

Great value for money hotel, ideal location and staff very helpful. We even had a lovely sea view. This is the second time we have stayed and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. It isn’t 5 star but it’s clean and more than adequate for what we needed.
