Trip protection is a scam

We were going to visit a friend that unfortunately fell ill the day we were coming in town to visit. We had purchased the travel Protection plan for additional cost. Tried to cancel the visit through app and was told that in order to cancel they have to contact the hotel. Was told cancellation was denied and we would be liable for charges. We still traveled 2 hours one way just to stay the night in a hot hotel room where the ac would not keep up.

POOR VENTILATION

Upon entering the Hampton Inn in Newberry SC, these was a strong musky odor. When I arrived at the hotel 5 minutes before check-in, I was told by the customer service representative that my room was not ready yet. When I checked into my room, the musky odor was even worse. I would not recommend this hotel until it gets better ventilation.
