Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean however it does have carpet and caused my allergies to flare so unfortunately o won’t be staying there again for that reason.

Our Suite was both elegant and comfortable! There was no noise from elsewhere, the hot water was instant, the air conditioning completely adjustable and relatively quiet! Service staff kept it neat and this location is only a couple blocks from Central Park. Amsterdam Ave near 79th St is loaded with wonderful restaurants. Public transportation also stops nearby. We enjoyed a 6 night stay.

The hotel was clean, quiet and easy to get to on public transportation. However, I was very disappointed that when I arrived after midnight as I called and said I would be, the bellman told me that the night mgr had gone to get dinner and I would have to wait for him to come back to check me in. Please understand it is now 2:30am. The night mgr returned about 10 mins later and asked for my ID and credit with no apology. I appreciate that it may not be typical for guest to arrive at 2:30am but I do expect an apology when I have to wait to check in despite the time of day. This small courtesy would have gone a long way at 2;30an following flight delays and detours.

The location was perfect for walking and utilizing public transportation. Staff was warm and friendly, and I only wish we had more time to enjoy the hotel! We will definitely be back again!

I really liked the hotel. It was very comfortable, the lobby is nice and the staff is helpful. The only thing I would add is an in-room mini fridge to keep drinks cold.

Great NYC trip

We had a great stay at the Lucerne. We booked a deluxe suite and expected a much smaller room in NYC. It had a full separate space, a large bathroom and a lot of space in the bedroom including a dresser and a desk with a chair. The front desk staff was super helpful and the doormen were friendly and accommodating. My one small complaint was that the room was not cleaned until 6 pm on our first day, so we needed to wait and then the cleaning staff must have felt rushed because the room was not super clean, but it was fine and the beds were made and fresh towels left. Overall, great hotel, amazing location, would absolutely stay again.

This hotel is in a wonderful location - near subways, museums, Central Park, Zabars, etc. There are numerous restaurants in the area in addition to Nice Matin which is attached to the hotel. I love the neighborhood which is very walkable.

Perfect for families

Clean, spacious family suite in a great neighborhood. Just steps to AMNH and Central Park. Little bit of an older building but it was cosy and convenient to what we wanted to see. Service was good to passable depending on the staff member at the front desk , but an overall positive experience!

The staff was excellent however there is something you should know about this building is that it’s very old school… There is no exhaust in the bathroom. You have to physically open the window… The air condition doesn’t work great. We had to call several times even though they tried to fix it… This would not be a good place to stay in the summer or in the winter, since there is no heater in the bathroom for when it’s cold. That being said it’s in a great location and it’s a 24 hour concierge.

Great hotel and would stay here again!

Hotel staff were very friendly and professional! The place was also very clean and close to a lot of public transit options. I wish regular rooms also did come with a microwave/fridge and not just the suites, but that would be the only takeaway I had from my stay there. I would definitely stay there again if I'm in NYC and would also recommend it to friends. The rooms were clean, spacious, in a convenient location, and the staff were super friendly and professional.
