Beware, it’s a room in an elderly care home!

It didn’t say anywhere that this apartment is part of an old age home. The pictures of the communal spaces for the property are for the use of the care home residents. All of the property facilities are clearly for elderly residents. The shower room is designed for wheelchair users. I’d understand if the property was advertised as being designed for disabled people, but it is just because it is part of a care home. They are clearly just renting out rooms they’ve been unable to sell to elderly residents. Most of the things in the room had been bought from Amazon Basics, so you have an idea of the level of investment and care going into the property. The apartment was filled with bugs crawling all over the walls and windows and we couldn’t wait to leave. Not exactly an apartment, and certainly somewhere you’d want to spend as little time as possible.

The apartment itself was pretty good. Excellent bathroom and a large lounge. It would be good to have some furniture on the balcony. The surrounding area is quiet and a fair distance from any shops or restaurants. The staff, when you could get hold of them. We were staying in Nevers for the motorcycle world championship at nearby Magny Cours. Three days here is long enough.

Riding the Eurovelo 6, we were looking for a place to relax and recharge. We enjoyed the little apartment with a kitchenette, and friendly, helpful staff. There was a safe indoor place to store our bikes, and shopping nearby. I hated to leave!

Just what we needed

We used the apartments twice as we passed through Nevers with our two dogs. This was perfect for us. Clean, spacious and bright. The fan was really helpful too. Very pleased with both stays.

I found this property hard to find. There was noone at the desk and I had a hard time finding room almost gave up. I do not speak or read French so this did not help with there being no one at the front desk. The room had a strong smell from the room freshener and it was overpowering.

Great stay but please get your wifi sorted.

Everything was perfect except the wifi. It dropped off line every 10 or so minutes and very annoying whilst trying to Skype family. Another person staying helped us out and gave us their password which stayed on line and never popped off. A couple of things missing in the kitchen, a chopping board and dishwashing liquid.

Excellent room but some issues

The room is very large, comfortable and modern. As others have noted, it is in a wing of senior housing. There are two main issues guests should be aware of: 1. There is no air conditioning, and the windows have no screens. 2. The reception desk is open only limited hours--and does not open in the morning until 10 am. (However, the senior center is open, so you can probably get in and have someone call the manager for you if you arrive at unusual times. Management is friendly and helpful. The nearest shops are a few blocks from the residence and are in a somewhat seedy neighborhood. Cleaning of the residence public areas was below standard. A large dead bee remained conspicuously in a main hallway for four days.

Manque de propretĂ© particuliĂšrement dans une des 2 chambres : micro-ondes, ventilation, murs tachĂ©s, pommeau de douche rempli de calcaire depuis sĂ»rement longtemps ( croĂ»te orangeĂątre). Il manquait des serviettes dans l’autre chambre, on nous rĂ©pond qu’il n’y en a pas assez pour tout le monde ! Bien que rĂ©servĂ© Ă  l’avance le petit dĂ©jeuner Ă©tait vide. Nous Ă©tions totalement surpris comme une autre famille d’ailleurs malgrĂ© l’horaire 8h45. On nous rĂ©pond que les fours trop petits ne fournissent pas
