What a pleasant surprise. This hotel caters to the outdoor enthusiast. They have in house mountain bike rentals and storage for all of your outdoor toys. The rooms are very comfortable and modern. It would be nice if they explained all of the great options the hotle offers in English better.

Wonderful Stay

I would stay here again and again. The location was a little hard to find but sometimes the places are. The staff was very nice and the room was wonderful. While this find was completely by accident I now want to make a trip just to stay here again.

Cool, modern hotel - close to slopes.

Very well thought through hotel with lift to slopes in sight. Great breakfast buffet. Very accommodating staff. Lots of little details that make a stay - particularly a skiing stay - comfortable. Be prepared for warm rooms in the summer. Very attractively priced.

Nice Hotel

Rooms were a bit small, especially if you have a child, but they were clean. The included breakfast was one of the best we've had in a hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Great, Awesome, Amazing.... where do I stop.

Only 1 down for me, that was no air con and no fan in room. There was a summer heat wave happening but at least the eco design meant that the room wasn't tooo stuffy. Apart from that, what a COOL place to stay. Staff were amazing and extremely helpful, hotel was really 'Funky' and a breath of fresh air for this 49'er. Great breakfast spread with a very 'do it yourself' approach which suited me (Not the oldie next door who couldn't stop moaning that he had to do everything himself). Very much the place for the modern traveller and a really great base to explore the bottom or Germany. Great price and extremely good value for money. Will definitely be on my list if I return to Europe.

Great ski hotel

The hotel is very clean and new. Our room outlooked the ski hill which was amazing. Each room has a balcony which is nice. The breakfast was nice, you can cook your own eggs which is a plus. The hotel is next to the ski hill which is perfect as you could just walk over. They also offer a kids ski school which is amazing. You can buy lessons at the hotel. For my son we paid 38€ for 2 hours in the morning and then 2 hours in the afternoon. He loved it and learned a lot, giving us time to enjoy the slopes.

Impressive!

We loved our stay at the Explorer Hotel Neuschwanstein. The location is beautiful. The room was exceptionally clean and had plenty of room for all our needs. The breakfast is amazing. Definitely the best of our travel through Belgium, Germany, and Italy. The hotel staff were wonderful. Attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to recommend not only a delightful restaurant for dinner, but the most delicious dish. We would definitely recommend and would love to return for a longer stay!

Amazing breakfast

We initially had some problems with the check in, but the problem was quickly fixed by the bartender. This is a nice hotel in a nice location. The breakfast buffet is absolutely amazing.

Nice hotel in nice rural surrounding

For Euro 103 (3 persons), a great price for the main season. Room was a bit small, but clean and in pleasant and original style (e.g. foto of forrest on the ceiling). Staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet (for 3) was included in price and was amazingly good (you can fry eggs and bacon yourself and have to “explore” where things are; that was a great thing for my kids). Located on a hill with surrounding sheep, cows (and a fox). A pleasant 10 min walk brings you to the nice village Nesselwang where we had for an amazing and inexpensive dinner at the “Hotel Post”. Highly recommendable.

Castle visit

Very much a young, active peoples hotel, felt a bit like an upmarket youth hostel for a couple of over 60's. Good front desk staff. Bed comfortable. Bathroom good. Parking good. Wifi good. Breakfast a bit of a bun fight but very nice to have the option of cooking fresh eggs at the egg station myself, other breakfast options available.

Little touches like a 'cook your own eggs' station, shared balconies with neighboring rooms, recycled barn wood in our room, a pinterest-style electronic wall and RFID controlled espresso machines made this a fun, young hotel. Wish we had more time to spend there!

Incredible eco-friendly hotel in Nesselwang

To start with, if you're a fan of buffet breakfasts, you will love Explorer Hotel. It had an outstanding range of options (make your eggs/omelettes, breads/rolls, cold meats, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, incredible coffee machine free in the mornings) and was continually stocked throughout the breakfast. The room was spacious, all appliances were modern, and the bathroom and shower was great. We visited in summer, but I can see how the place would be thriving in winter, with skiing and other snow sports literally on the doorstep of the hotel and other facilities like ski lockers etc in the reception. There was also a gym and sauna which we didn't get to. Would definitely stay again, even though Nesselwang itself is pretty quiet in the summer months.

More than we expected

We stayed overnight in this hotel on our way to neuschwanstein castle. We arrived around 1130 pm but the front desk was very gracious and helpful. The room design was unique yet comfy. The glass wall and door let you see the beautiful view outside like you re in the middle of wilderness. Breakfast was excellent for a budget hotel.
