Rooms are small but functional and clean: just a bed, a small table, fridge, and very little space beyond that. The breakfast spread consists of breads and pastries as well as soups and salads; not the most amazing breakfast, but gets you going for the rest of the day. Location-wise, the hotel is a roughly ten minute walk from the Sakae Station on the subway, and there is a decent amount of restaurants and shopping options in the neighborhood. It is, however, located close to a number of night clubs that some might find appalling. Overall, the hotel is a good place to clean up and rest for solo travelers, but have little to offer beyond that.

It was just the right size for my short stay. It had a tv, mini refrigerator, joined shower toilet, and a free breakfast of breads and hard boiled eggs. Simple but what I needed.

The R&B Hotel Nagoya Nishiki - late night district

The Hotel is located about half way between 2 subway stops, so it's a short walk to get to it. Fine if you have one bag or suitcase, but more troublesome if you have a lot of stuff with you. Windows have basically no view as they are made to allow light to pass but not image for privacy. Rooms are efficiently small and quiet. Laundry is on the 6th floor which also has a vending machine for beer. Surrounding area features many restaurants that specialize in Yakitori and or ramen. Also clubs that offer titillation and drinking (hostess bars and "health" services) not sure if you can bring guests to your room, you might want to check with the front desk. They secure the front door after 10 pm, but you just have to click the buzzer to be let in. Check-in starts at 4 pm and I chose to practice my Japanese, but I believe they do speak enough English to explain most items or rules. If you are used to Japanese business hotels, this is a pretty nice place. Don't expect this to be similar to large American hotels with nice views and a staff that is fluent in English. This hotel is geared more towards the Japanese and that is why it is much more of a discount. I enjoyed it.
