This apartment could be great, but sadly isn’t.The pros: the location is excellent. The subway stop is right outside the door, and the neighborhood felt safe, quiet, and convenient with plenty of cafés and shops nearby. Check-in instructions arrived exactly when promised and were clear and thorough. The apartment was small but efficiently laid out, with plenty of outlets plus useful extras like a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and laminated local guides in German and English.The cons: the cleanliness and maintenance were major disappointments. The shower drain backed up and flooded the bathroom, forcing us to clean it ourselves. The shower grout had significant mildew buildup, the floors had not been properly swept, there was food under the table, and we even found used contact lenses left on the headboard. Bedding was wadded up in the wardrobes and appeared as though it may have been left by prior guests.Several items were broken or inadequate: the coat rack was damaged, the mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable, and there were only four pillows despite the unit sleeping eight. For four adults, only two bath towels, three hand towels, and one small roll of toilet paper were provided. There were also no washcloths, dishwasher soap, or basic cleaning supplies.Finally, several features shown or listed were missing, including the freezer, rug, plant, and bed covers, making the apartment feel much barer than advertised and our stay less than comfortable.
