I know that property was recently remodeled cause i stay there last 3/24. The problem is that work done is really bad. The floor has fairly new vinal flooring but it was lumpy all throw room. The bathroom door would not close properly because of bubbly floor the piece board separating bath from bedroom was raised up. The bathroom shower had some mold & cauking was also inferior so that could be why had places that had mold so we left without shower. Had i know room would be that bad i Would NEVER HAVE STAYED THERE. Especially when they charged close to $200 including taxes for 1 night. It's kinda of a dump. Will NEVER stay again.

The Monterey Surf’s Inn, I rarely review properties but this one stands out, me and my family stayed for a week and really found the place to be perfect of what we need for our stay. The property was recently renovated, very clean inside and out,the room was very clean, bed is very comfortable, very walkable to Monterey’s attractions, Del monte shopping mall is just 5 minutes walk, variety of restaurants nearby. Every morning we enjoyed the high tech coffee machine which actually dispensed high end beverages and lastly Mike the manager is very professional, very accommodating and very friendly, knowledgeable to the surrounding area. Definitely coming back here when we comeback to Monterey.

Everything was excellent, staff were extremely helpful and polite, couldn’t do enough for me on my arrival, the room was spacious and clean. However there was no hot water in the morning for a shower, other than that very good.

Very tiny room, smelled of mold. Sink located outside of bathroom, next to bed, very inconvenient for washing up after using the restroom.

Poor bath drainage and weak wifi

The hotel is Ok, in a good location. The equipment seems to be old. Bath does not drain water properly, and water accumulates taking shower. The wifi is extremely weak and slow.

The room got the job done. Definitely met the BARE minimum for a room. Floor was not swept. No coffee maker in room. All lights were LED (SUPER BRIGHT WHITE). Light switch to bathroom was on the outside of the bathroom. Minimal walking around room in the room. Water took FOREVER to warm up. We had people outside of our room at the “patio area” chatting until about 10pm. After a long day at the aquarium and as a mom with 4 year old kiddos who have a bedtime this was not ideal. Highlights: The mattress and the toilet paper. Wouldn’t book again; I’ll spend the extra money for a “nicer” room.
