This is a lovely property, conveniently located just at the edge of the shopping and dining area, so it's quiet without all of the foot traffic from the busier streets. They offer a parking lot with several spaces, so we didn't find it difficult to park on a busy weekend. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the property is well maintained. We didn't find the many steps onerous, but if you are older you might want to consider the fact that you must walk up many stairs, even if you are staying on the first floor, as the property is elevated from 5th, but can be accessed without too many stairs through the parking lot from Mission. I have stayed at this property several times, twice on the second floor (lots of steps!), and once from the first floor as I was traveling with a 90-year-old who was able to get around ok with assistance. Check in begins at 3 pm, so don't go early expecting to check in before that time - just walk around town for awhile and grab a bite to eat or enjoy the sights!

We had a love/hate relationship with the Wayfarer Inn. It has so much promise, but alas it needs a lot of help to get there. Here’s the good: - Fantastic location. Walkable to downtown for shopping and restaurants. Very safe area. - There aren’t a lot of grounds at the resort, but what they have is very well cared for. The courtyard is adorable with chairs and beautiful flowers. - We were a late arrival and the front desk made sure to leave our room key out for us. - Larger than average rooms. The Bad: - The parking was difficult. Very small parking lot in the back that gets full right away. If you go anywhere at night you will not have a parking spot. And most of the parking on the street has time limits. - The rooms were actually ok. They could use some updating, but they’re large and the fireplace is a nice touch. BUT it was horribly dirty. There were hair and whiskers all over the sink *shudder*. The shower wasn’t very clean. And the ceiling fan had a THICK layer of dust on it. I wish I would have taken a picture. It was a large layer of dust just sitting on top of the fan blades. It made my allergies go crazy. - There is no hairdryer. I may be being picky here, but even the Motel 6 has hairdryers. - There was no ice maker other than the one in the office. So when they’re gone, you’re out of luck. We talked to the gentleman at the front desk and told him about the cleaning issue and he said they were training new housekeepers. So let’s hope that will improve.

It’s not that it was out dated ! It was dirty with sandy floors, crumbs of pistachios behind the portable air conditioner that we had to move to the side in order to take use of table and chair . One of our bathrooms had a Kotex in the garbage can that was clearly visible and beds had sand on the sheets . Guest were outside in the patio and very loud could not sleep ! There is no closing hours for the use of the patio area so any guest can drink and party as loud as they wish all night . Very unhappy !

It was so noisy all night long both nights. The doors slamming shut, it sounded like a generator was running all night. There were people who must have left their dog in the room and it barked for around 3 hours. I don’t blame the hotel for that. There isn’t anyone’s in the office to ask for more toilet paper, we only had the one roll on the holder and it was one ply and they don’t provide Kleenex so you have to use the tp for both. I thought we would run out.
