So perfect if your vibe is getting away to a secluded cozy weekend!! a drive away from the parks and beautiful hikes, the cabinet itself is so woody and cozy, surrounded by woods and nature, we enjoyed cooking, lighting the fire and enjoying the peace and quiet. Li was so kind and make sure we have everything we needed. Would love to come again!!

The Ponderosa Cabin was exactly what we hoped for and more. The house was very clean and well-kept. I booked this cabin because the photos showed beautiful trees right outside the windows, and it did not disappoint: the scenery was stunning. We even saw four deer right outside the cabin!Our host was incredibly attentive, checking in with us from the moment we made the reservation until after we checked out. Their communication made the whole stay feel smooth and cared for. Make sure to carefully read the instructions and important information that is sent. Highly recommend this cabin for a peaceful, scenic getaway.

Super cute cabin, loved the furniture and decor. We definitely enjoyed the fireplace. Ladder/stairs to the loft bedroom were steep, so older or accident prone people (like me) just be aware. We saw deer and a flock of turkeys both mornings as we left. Super convenient to Kings/Sequoia. Pay attention to the directions provided! The driveway is very close to the turn from the highway, we missed it at first because the house numbers aren’t in a regular order.

The cabin was deep in the woods down an unpaved downhill road. It was private because you had to close a gate and lock it shut when you went down the unpaved road. It rained and snowed and we were concerned that we would not be able get up the unpaved road to leave the property. The only heat was a couple of space heaters and a wood burning stove/fireplce. It was 58 degrees F in our bedroom the second morning. It was 36degrees outside. All the furnishings were ancient. The blankets on the bed were matted / dirty and nasty. The mattress was brand new. We saw the one they were remobving when we arrived and it was filthy. The couches and throw pillows felt dirty and very worn. We only stayed two of the three night that we booked.

We enjoyed our stay. We were fairly close to the national parks which was our priority. The host and manager were very responsive to our questions and/or concerns. One item of note-- you have to go into the main bedroom in order to use the bathroom.

Das Häuschen liegt abseits der Straße wirklich mitten im Wald.Das Haus ist sehr urig eingerichtet, ein Sammelsurium aus alten Möbeln - für meinen Geschmack etwas zu vollgestellt und dunkel- aber das ist ja Geschmacksache.Wir hatten alles dort was wir brauchten. Die Küchenecke war klein, aber ausreichend. Das Geschirr war leider nicht sauber, da haben es unsere Vormieter wohl eilig gehabt abzureißen. A

We loved our stay at this lovely cabin! Such great rustic charm and all the ammenities of home. Great deck to bbq, relax with a cup of coffee and bird watch! Super cozy inside with plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed the remote location and peaceful atmosphere. The host had great communication and made sure we had everything we needed. We would love to stay here again!

Cool place! Mash up of knotty wood cabin, mid century modern and garage sale finds!

Description of the property is quite accurate - access to the upper level can be better described as climbing a ladder - these are not steps. Put the young un’s upstairs would be the recommendation. Outdoor furniture is weathered and quite tired. Kudos to the privacy and setting. Picked our fill of wild blackberries and enjoyed the visit by 3 mama turkeys and their broods.

Trip to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks

The cabin is just as pictured. After a stay in busy Yosemite Valley this secluded cabin was much welcomed! The location was perfect for exploring Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.

Great stay at the cabin

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Remote location, beautiful night skies and well stocked kitchen.Some things to note, every lamp in the property has a different way to turn on. Many lamps were unplugged so we had to figure it out. I am glad we were with friends coz the house is 1/4 of a mile from the main road. We ended up locking the gate to the property while we were there too. The drive to the property is a winding downhill with many hairpin and steep curves (about 4.5 miles).Very quiet area, within nature and within peaceful surroundings.

Very nice cabin close to Sequoia National Park

Read the description of the cabin. It accurately describes the cabin. We rented it to mainly visit Sequoia NP. We did cook out one night on the patio. Very pleasant environment. It was easy to find everything one needed. Plenty of towels, sheets, etc. There is a restaurant 5 minutes away that offered food, drink and free pool. For the money spent, we felt it was a good value and would happily stay here again.

We had a bit of trouble as we entered the property and had to unlock a large chain to drive down the path to the house. So after multiple tries and then waiting to hear back from the host or property manager who was nearby we were able to get in. The problem was that the key code had gotten changed, but the materials sent to us by the host was the old code. The good news was we got in!

cabin in the hills

Rustic older cabin in the hills and mountain area around Kings Canyon. All the right tools for the 3 nights we stayed. Wifi was necessary and appreciated as there is no connectivity for our cell phones. Extra towels, blankets, food, dishes, all made it great. Cabin was initially stuffy from being locked up, but we opened the windows and the back door for a few hours and it cleared up. My girls who stayed up in the loft kept the window open as it is extra warm and less air up there. Mornings were chilly and we used the extra blankets. The chirping birds and little lizards made the deck super fun. We had a blast. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Quiet getaway near Sequoia and Kings Canyon

Great little getaway only 15 or 20 minutes away from big stump entrance. Cabin is nestled away in a nice quiet area. Lots of Wildlife nearby. We even saw a wild Tom Turkey strutting his stuff on the hillside. The cabin had easy access to big stump entrance.
