We were told 2 days before our arrival there would be some exterior construction going on at the building, however we had no idea it would literally be right outside our 18th floor unit. Upon arrival we could see that every window (except the front) was covered in plastic, foam board or tarps. It was also obvious the balcony off of one of the master bedrooms could not be accessed, nor was it usable since it was packed with construction materials. Our first morning there we awoke to pounding, drilling, and loud music outside our windows. There were workers directly outside of the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom windows all day, as well as the following day, and although the windows had protective material over them, there were still gaps so it was a bit disturbing to shower or use the bathroom when they were working. The worst of it though was the loud, deafening, obnoxious noise we endured for 2 days (basically half the time, since we were only there 4 full days). The Thanksgiving holiday provided a reprieve from the construction, otherwise it would have been worse. But even when they weren’t on the premises working, all the tarps directly outside the bedroom windows were flapping loudly every night disturbing everyone’s sleep it’s a shame no one is taking responsibility for the fact this property should never have been rented during this time.
