Extremely helpful staff Amazing food at the Michelin star restaurant, a unique and fantastic experience Clean However the room where we were placed at first on the first floor was awful. It is directly above a loud bar and the floor was vibrating Fortunately we were upgraded to a beautiful room with comfortable bed and lovely rain shower Free breakfast was excellent with many local favorites

We arrived at Casa Izel after a disaster of another hotel that was comparable in price - we actually left that hotel the night we checked in which we have never done - and decided to go to Izel. The minute we arrived the staff literally ran out to greet us and take our bags. They offered us apple infused water while we checked in. The aesthetic charm of the hotel is evident the moment you walk in and I almost started to cry with joy when I saw the charming, clean and romantic lobby/bar area - it was everything I had wanted. When we walked into our room we were equally pleased - we stayed in the Contempo King - the room was spacious, clean, and full of charm. We loved the towels and robes in the room - the bed was comfortable - the sheets were soft and luxurious - literally every detail was a pleasure. The free breakfast on the charming rooftop terrace was delicious and full of charming detail (like flowers in the yogurt). Every staff member we encounteerd was extremely sweet and courteous. I cannot say enough how much we would recommend this hotel - the unique aspect of the brutalist architecture and all of the details made this feel like a special romantic treat within a huge; hustling and bustling city like Mexico City. On top of that the location couldn't be more perfect - short walks to highlights of Roma Norte and Condesa including Contramar; Panaderia Rosetta and Molino Pujol.

Lovely boutique hotel with wonderfully attentive staff. I would definitely stay here again. My only concern was that the lighting in the room could have been better and the lighting in the stairwell also needed to be brighter. The dim lighting enhanced the atmosphere, but could pose a safety issue.

Beautiful modern property with unique, and cozy, design elements. The staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. They did seem a bit understaffed for breakfast and the dining area on the roof could benefit from more seating. But everything was delicious and the staff were amazingly kind. Casa Izel will be me and my husband's go to CDMX hotel moving forward!

Over the course of several trips, I’ve learned that it’s important for a place of stay to feel as close to home as possible. Only then, can you truly unwind and get to know and enjoy the place and people you’re visiting. With that in mind, I am fascinated by the extent to which Hotel Casa Izel and its staff have mastered what I consider to be the complicated art of hospitality. The hotel itself is a gem and strikes an incredible balance between a modern interior and a more historical exterior face. Staff like Adrián, Natalia and Saúl are masters at each of their crafts, and from our arrival in CDMX, I was convinced we’d made the right choice. I highly recommend Hotel Casa Izel to anyone (foreign or local) who is looking for a genuinely good time in CDMX. The staff are incredibly warm and receptive, and each person had their own nuggets of knowledge related to what is frankly one of the most majestic cities in the world. We didn’t have the opportunity to take advantage of everything the hotel offered, but rest assured, we’ll be back! I do, however, have a newfound love for chilaquiles for breakfast.

This place advertises as “Continental Breakfast” . What they serve is one small cup of coffee, little fruit in a plate and 2 slices of toast. I asked for another cup of coffee and was charged for it. Also, when we checked in they gave us a room with a bathroom which had no doors and there is a huge mirror right outside so there is zero privacy. RIDICULOUS!! Of course they changed the room with some reluctance because we just could not accept that room.
