Everything was exactly as we expected it! This was our second time staying in this lovely home. It is clean and comfy. The basement is fun and the scenery is so pretty! The owner communicated very well with us, too. You’ll love it here!

Very clean. Lots of space. We wish we could have used the house but too busy for us to really enjoy. Hosts were easy to reach and everything was as promised. Hope to stay again and use the downstairs.

Perfect Spot for a Friends and Family Trip

My friends and I had a great stay! The house was clean, comfortable, and had a very homey feel that made it easy to relax. Communication with the owners was quick, understanding, and friendly. The house was well-stocked with just about everything we needed. We also appreciated the little details, like the nice silverware and dishes. No major issues —we would stay here again!

Family weekend for JMU pre-spring break

Lovely, clean, comfortable & great location. Massenutten is a beautiful area and not too far from JMU. The resort has a lot of amenities to take advantage of. House had great decor and lots of fun games for chilling and silly family time! Host were very attentive. Thank you! Could have used a couple more towels, appreciated the extra blankets, and fans. Beds a little hard. Thank you!

Amazing Weekend

We spent the weekend here and it was beautiful. The house was very clean and had anything that we would need. The kids loved the basement with the games and private bedroom and bathroom. I highly recommend!

Family Christmas Holiday

Very nice property that suited my party of 10 (5 adults and 5 children). Property was clean and had most everything we needed enjoy our visit. Since we planned to eat in every meal, the kitchen had a lot of extra items which was nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Family Fun Stay

Papaw and Nana have two sons, two daughter in loves, with three granddaughters 5, 5, and 1 and two grandsons, 4 and 3. We all loved staying at Rocktown Retreat last year, so decided to come back again this year. We will probably make this a yearly family tradition. The house is the perfect size, with bunk beds and a bath downstairs with a huge family room and pool table for the kids to play, adult kids too. Everything was so nice and clean and ready to be enjoyed. It is a blessing to find such a great place and an awesome host. Every question was answered and they even put up a door at the top of the stairs to help us keep one pet separated from the other. Both times we have stayed, we were impressed and would highly recommend staying here, I know we will be back. Thank you so much for caring and your hospitality, it really shows.

JMU Graduation Weekend Stay

Our family (7 adults a variety of ages) stayed three nights at this lovely property. We were there to celebrate our son's graduation from JMU. The house was clean, as advertised and the owners always communicated quickly, clearly and were very helpful. Check-in was also a breeze. The property was peaceful and perfect for people of all ages - the downstairs was a great hangout for the younger crowd with ping pong, pool table, TV and other games. We did a lot of our own cooking and needed to buy a few extra pans and kitchen items - there were some limits on what was stocked in the house. I would highly recommend this house and we would come back. Thanks for helping us make a great lifelong memory in this lovely mountain home!

An impeccable and quiet space

We really enjoyed our stay at this very updated and cozy house. The house was well stocked with items and had a very comfortable check-in process. We really enjoyed the amenities the house provided, and the QUIET back porch. My only criticism is that this house does not comfortably sleep 10 adults, as there are only 3 beds, and 2 bunk beds.

Weekend getaway

We had an amazing weekend stay at Rocktown Retreat. During the booking process, the host was quick to respond and very helpful. He even sent a guidebook with recommendations to local restaurants. We tried 3 of the restaurants and none of them disappointed! The house is even more stunning in person! It is clean, spacious and inviting. When we weren’t busy enjoying all the attractions Massanutten has to offer, we stayed in, played pool, watched movies in front of the warm fire place, and sat out on the deck watching the abundance of wildlife in the woods behind the house. Overall we had great little trip and I highly recommend this property.

Family Ski Trip

This house was great! We took a family ski trip and this home fit all our needs perfectly. The location was great, the play room was perfect, and the home was so clean and just liked it was shown in pictures! We will definitely stay here again!

Great House!

Great location to the slopes, very clean and just as shown in the listing. Kids/young adults had their own space downstairs with the game room. Beautiful views! Loved the outside seating with the gas fire pit. Will definitely be renting this house again.

Rocktown Retreat Rocks!

The house is so comfy, clean, and pristine with everything you need for a delightful getaway. The weather turned to rain instead of snow but that didn’t slow down the fun. My teenage sons and their older cousins had a blast doing competitions in the game room. We made wonderful memories! The owner, David, was great to coordinate with and we appreciated the flexibility and options to prolong our stay. Rocktown Retreat rocks and we hope to be staying there again soon.

The property looked new and clean, it looked just like the pictures as advertised. There was always a rapid response for any questions or concerns we had before during and after our stay. We saw deer in the back yard and thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We had a great family trip to Rocktown retreat. The house was beautiful and located in a quiet cu-de-sac. It has an open floor plan with bedrooms on the main level and a bedroom, bathroom, and huge game/living area downstairs. This worked perfectly for our family and pets. David was also very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.
