Across the street from the promenade and lake which is great . Had to take taxi from/ to main train station which was very expensive . Our room booking said “ partial view “ but that was only if you turned head 90 degrees standing on tiny balcony , we mostly just saw another building .
Comfortable hotel with very friendly staff great selection on the TV channels with a fantastic location , breakfast selection was poor as was the selection from room service with limited time of service , cleaning service was good , the hotel is within walking distance of most major shopping districts of Lugano and if you go to your right as you exit the hotel there are several good restaurants there is one Indian average place but after it there is a great seafood restaurant I cannot remember the name but it was out of the World all fresh their Sole and Monkfish are outstanding . The reception staff at the hotel are co-operative and helpful do not hesitate to ask for their help , there is a very small and primitive elevator , though charming , if they are busy it could take a while to get your turn , when I was there one day there was an Asian tourist group it was torture to get down when they were checking out , you can only take one bag at a time into the elevator, also parking is an issue , there is some parking in front of the hotel but only for compact cars , if you have a van try talking to reception for arranging a parking spot on the side of the hotel . Foxtown outlet mall is about a fifteen minute drive out they have a great selection of high end luxury goods at good deals there is also a alpine zip line near by great for a family outing also Lucerne is about two hours away with all it’s history and scenery a beautiful city , Just avoid the weekends at all costs I
