When we arrived in our room we noticed that the door had obviously been kicked in at some point and had hastily been fixed. So we didn’t feel safe here from the beginning.
After we settled in we tried to take a shower but there was no hot water. We went to the front desk to ask about it and he realized that he put us in the one building that had the heating element out. It was late and we didn’t want to move so we just didn’t shower.
The next morning I realized that I had already paid for this place on Expedia and when we checked in he had charged me AGAIN. I had to go to the front desk, prove I’d already paid, and get my money back. I asked if we could just get our money back for our second night and we would go somewhere else but the girl at the front desk said that there wasn’t anyone there who could make that decision. We didn’t want to leave and risk the chance of not getting refunded so unfortunately we stayed.
When we got back from our day out, another front desk employee offered us a new room that we could use to just shower in. When I entered this room there was a man lying in bed which was embarrassing for both of us. I went back to tell the employee and she gave me a key to another room that she “knew was empty for sure”. There were 3 cars in the parking lot so how it was even possible she gave me keys to a room someone else was already in blows my mind.
The worst place we stayed on our 3 month roadtrip.
