Nice hotel overall, but failures of the front desk caused issues.
I’d spoke to the front desk well in advance and arranged for early check-in. This was agreed, confirming around midday. I called back the day before stay and confirmed again (my arrival 1300-1400).
On arrival (1400) the room wasn’t ready - we waited until 1500; the standard check-in time.
At 1500, we were told the room wouldn’t be ready for another hour.
After complaining and having to explain how this would cause issues with plans they arranged an alternative room.
The room was the correct type, but was without bedding for our son. Already running late because of the issues at check-in, we waited until we got back from our evening out before trying to make the bed from what spares were in the cupboard. It was missing any sheets. Trying to get sheets from front desk took us nearly an hour of multiple calls to the front desk and messages through the Hilton honours app - the desk staff, who weren’t able to speak well in clear English, were non-committal with how long it may be. Our 7 year old was falling asleep on the sofa by this time.
Otherwise the room had a some wear and tear which could have been made better.
The carpet into the kind bedroom was wearing thin near the threshold and spikes on the gripper strip could be felt pricking the skin under feet. Also there was some water damage on wallpaper and floor near bathroom evident from a previous leak behind wall - not a great look.
