Tuscany isn’t what you might think, it isn’t all cypress lined roads, vineyards and olive groves, it isn’t just winding roads through spectacular mountains, it isn’t just a wealth of farmhouses on hilltops with panoramic views. It is so much more and every district has its own distinct character. Wild and untamed, rugged and beautiful, the Mugello is everything you would want and more.
La Noce was completely renovated scant years ago. Its panoramic position captured the imagination of the owners who sought to create a true home from home in the country style that they found so appealing. Situated in unspoiled countryside with stunning views of the estate’s own orchard, olive grove and vineyards (whose products can be bought in season) it commands views the likes of which could grace the pages of any photographers portfolio for postcards.
La Noce has got only three apartments that have been converted from the original stone built hay barn, part of the farmhouse and a medieval watchtower. Well appointed and equipped, the modern soft furnishings add comfort and beauty to the simple country styled interiors. Original features such as the heavy chestnut beams and old barn doors have been kept and are now quirkily used as headboards. Oak furniture has been restored and polished until it shines like the sun on the lake below.
Relax and unwind by the private pool surrounded by a large terrace and lawn, take walks or mountain bike rides through the splendid Tuscan scenery or take a horseback safari from a nearby stable for that authentic experience.
Londa 4km, is a charming pretty little village where all your basic essentials can be bought. Rufina 10km and Dicomano 6km offer a larger range of shops and Florence at 35km is the icing on an already rich cake of art, culture and history. The owners who live in a separate villa next door, are happy to arrange guided tours to oil mills and Chianti cellars on request; it would be churlish in the extreme to refuse!
