Property is as expected for its age. Can’t complain for the rate paid but the mattress must have dated from the 1980’s as it was hard, felt the springs and had a massive dip on one side is the bed where the springs were broken. Hotel mostly seems to cater for OAP coach holidays and is set up for such with its dining options. Location is perfect and the staff were all super pleasant and nice. Didn’t get much sleep sadly due to the mattress and lack of sound insulation from upstairs.

Dog-friendly hotel. Very welcoming and efficient staff. Hotel could do with some refurbishment as it's an old building and some bits look very tired. The lift belongs in a museum. Breakfast service is like a well oiled machine, churning out plates of decent quality food. Good value overall.

Had a last minute stop over stay at The Marlborough. Had a lovely welcome at reception and was surprised with a sea view room. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows comfortable. Shower was a bit “snug” but lovely and hot. Breakfast was good and service was friendly and excellent. Would defiantly stay again

If you are looking for posh.if you are looking for boutique hotel . this is not the place for you. the property is old Victorian i think.but it is spotlessly clean.the room had tea and coffee making facilities the tv was small the bathroom was dated. but the staff are great .service was excellent and friendly .the breakfast was excellent the evening meal was really good home cooking though the menu was a little dated.it reminded me of school dinner's my school had a great cook. i really enjoyed the over night stay so did our dog .

Comfortable but could do with improvements

Stay was comfortable. Its no frills, little things could be improved to make it look better, i.e, rust on shower caddy, bin lid chipped round edges, unit in bathroom rusty, toilet roll holder coming off wall, these are things that could easily be changed with little cost, it would make a massive improvement. Overall, i slept well, it was quiet & staff were lovely. Breakfast was great!
